MorphOS 3.2 is out now!

Introduces support for G5 Powermacs, more powerboks and G4 iBooks. A new network stack improves network speed much. 3D for R300 gfx cards is anothr highlight. But this update is just incredibely massive!

Read all about it here: http://www.morphos-team.net/releasenotes/3.2

And of course it's free of charge for already regsitered users.

Rock it!

@Zylesea

Congrats, especially on G5 support. Hope SAM 460 will be in the next bag!

Kind of, it just slows down after 1 hour of use or so, no other limits.

I believe you can register / pay licence inside the OS, no classic purchase.
But I might be wrong.

Found it
Quote:
Boot MorphOS and launch the included RegTool application (in the Tools drawer). Fill out the form and register. You will receive a validation email and after a successful validation, an email with PayPal link.

i guess just test it. demo has a thirty minute time limit and then slows down. try before you buy.

@Toaks

Demo is free. It slows down 30 minutes after each boot up. But you can boot it up as many times as you like. Registration is not version bound, but hardware bound. I.e. you register it for one machine and all versions are free for that particular machine.
Download only.

@Toaks

You can download the ISO image to burn in a CD, the OS works 30 minutes fine, after of this demo time works slowly, to buy the key is online from same MorphOS, and MorphOS with the Chrisalys Pack with all MorphOS software makes a fantastic experience, the MOS has good things where OS4 missing and viceversa.

@wawa

Seems the CD has a somehow corrupted boot.img, Manually copying the 3.2 boot.img over to the boot partitition doesn't work either. Wait for the fixed iso.

UPDATE:

Update on Macs works easily with a very little manual work:
copy the boot.img from the mac_ppc32 drawer to your hfs boot partition (mount that drive if necessary with sys:tools/mounter), then reboot with the MorphOS 3.2 cd inserted and proceed with the install - that's all (at least it worked for me),

NOTE: Be careful when messing with the boot: partitition - can render your system to non booting. If you don't know what you're doing, wait for the fixed iso.

Posting this from MorphOS 3.2 on Mac mini.

@Zylesea

I still don't get it... why don't they attempt to support the new SAM boards versus old crufty Macs?

@AmigaMac

Because crusty old Macs are much more powerful and about 1/8th the cost?

Besides, Sam 460 support is in the works.

@AmigaMac
g5 mac support was requested as a bounty, because proof of conccept was shown some time ago. if you want sam support finalized put up a bounty.

@Zylesea

uhmm ok now the cd boots, i see morphos allright and the installation started.. but then it went to iwizard and it won't find any harddrives or storage or different storage media connected.

macos is present but i won't use that ever again...

i read the installation guide on the morphos website but ...

tips?

EDIT: oh... it's only booting from the cd, the harddrive ain't found as i tried to start format in morphosboot tools etc....

starting to get annoyed here now...........

ps: omg the screen is blurry. i guess this is why it was at the scrapheap...

EDIT 2: ok.. macos didn't boot too so i removed the battery and so on and just tried to switch it on again... then it found the hdd and booted macos.. uh..sounds like something really bad is going on with this machine.
