I've made an archive with the latest JAmiga release for AmigaOS 4.
Its kind of beta state. I've tested it on my XE and X1000, and it works ok.

See the blog for details and downloads: http://jamiga2.blogspot.se/2013/07/a-silly-release.html

I say its a silly release, mostly because we haven't got much to run on it (since GUI support is lacking). But its pretty much what milestone 1 was all about.

@jaokim

Do you want this listed as a News Article? More folks will see it. These threads can get buried.

Nice!

Although I dont like Java, you did a great work making it do things at least.

Keep on going!

@Moxee

Well. I want to see if anyone has any problems installing it before making a very big fuss about it. But, then again. Sure, why not.

As for the cross-posting: I don't know, edited.

@jaokim

Nice!

Congratulations on getting it so far, I'm sure there'll be a few silly twoots over the next few days demonstrating and celebrating it.

@all

Thanks for all the nice comments!

I've received a few bugs (thank you Joeled! ) regarding some missing protection bits on the "java.script" file. It should have the "script" attribute set. If it doesn't you can fix it by running:
"protect JAmiga:java.script +s"

Also, I seem to have hard coded a path to my own system. A request for volume "Filer:" might come -- if so, just assign it to ram:, and it should work without it.

I'll fix these two things first, and perhaps also add AmiUpdate support, and then I'll see what can be done about GUI stuff, and perhaps contribute with some toher stuff that'll work without a GUI.

@jaokim

I havnt tried it yet, but does it come with Javac as I think the previous distributions didnt.

I'd gladly test out the functionality with custom java classes. thus also find the errors. Ive been working on C since my university and recently realized how much I miss Java and OO programming.
