I'm not so sure. To me that looks like a 70's stereo that predates the Amiga. |

I read some comments from FB, I think the idea was it was going to boot into a cut down version of windows embedded and run WinUAE on top of it.
It will work but, sub optimal, I don't see the appel if its just WinUAE with out the windows desktop.
Basically its a scam, that will fool people into buying some thing that is not what they expected.

Yup, it is a nasty replacement on what should have been by now i decent Amiga FPGA Classic with all the bells and whistles. Still waiting for a board that implements AAA+ (and beyond), that truly brings back the spirit of the Amiga classic brought forward to the present day. I guess Minimig goes some way to fulfill that, but it is not an ideal answer to push forward the classic arc.
It is a shame so much work was done on Natami and yet it was never released. Hope something comes along to replace it at some point, and soon.

The idea is to totally hide any Windows message / screen. So basically you'll see "just" the Amiga screen / graphic.
I saw some experiments, and they looks very good: no "Windows stuff" was shown.
This experiment coupled with an Amiga Mini can give a full Amiga machine which is quite powerful nowadays. |

As per the Amigaworld policy of keeping all discussion of CommodoreUSA (and related topics) off of the front page:

You need a really powerful PC to run AmigaOS4.1 at descent speed, but they are not going to sell you a decent PC, because they wont it to be sheep. (4 Ghz I5 = 200 Mhz PowerPC)
Plus this is just emulation, no direct access to video output, so you will have slow video, and JIT CPU emulation can be jerky compared to a real CPU.
Even if you just run AmigaOS3.x it wont feal like a real Amiga computer, thats way you have products like MiniMig, like QuBe was saying, just not responsive.

Plus you be paying premium price/skim pricing for just a PC, that you can buy in any computer store for half the price or with better specifications.
In the end you be better of buying a Sam440ep, it be faster then this setup, and I also belive sheaper.

I was talking about an Amiga machine, so not a PowerPC one. Quote:

I don't think so. WinUAE running on a decent machine is very fast and responsive, and has much more horse power compared to the current FPGA solutions. It can also take advantage of RTG. Quote:

No. You have to (re)install Windows, if you want. Quote:

It depends on what you want to do. It can be a solution if you want a standalone machine which works like an Amiga and runs the same software, but in a much more comfortable way and with much more performance. Quote:

Absolutely, but, you know: some people doesn't consider a PC an Amiga due to licensing reasons. The label. A label can make a big difference, and this product is a legally certified Amiga machine. Add WinUAE and the possibility to run the Amiga o.s. 3.0 or 3.1, with all the Amiga software, and you have closed the circle. Quote:

It's not an Amiga. |
