| @xe54,
Hmm, need to look at those old disks again. Not even sure of how many I have.

| Yea I'm getting a little OCD here.. I'm scouring all over the place to find this program and it's really illusive.. someone said they uploaded it to "the zone" but do not provide a link.. http://www.amigazone.com/ must be what they are talking about, but this seems to be a paid service?
who uploads freeware to a private server? :) I see some on ebay, but given the uncertainty of the software / age / condition of the disks.. etc.. |

Why do you want to convert it, and to what? On real Amiga you can write that to disk just like ADF (to DF0:, RAD:, etc...) and on UAE you can use it just like ADF too, UAE "understands" them too._________________ - The wiki based MorphOS Library - Your starting point for MorphOS - Software made by jPV^RNO |

yea i found two DMS programs (in ADF format) that I will try out. Move them over to floppy so I can install them
I understand it's possible to perhaps mount ADF files? I just don't know how to do it. So I use "Easy ADF" which will write an ADF directly to a 3.5" floppy.
Then I can take that disk and install it. I realize it's slow and probably unnecessary with the right knowhow, I just haven't taken the time to figure out how else to do it better. |

| So a quick update. I got the DMS program I found to work and write the SoundProbe DMS files to floppy. I was then able to install and run the software.
Another good tech day. My ACA 1233 (030 / 40mhz / 128mb ram) showed up today along with a set of 3.1 roms. Everything installed nicely and now the main A1200 works great.
I was able to move the 1208 speed doubler / 8mb fast ram card over to my secondary A1200 so it can run programs now without eating up chip ram so fast.
SoundProbe is pretty incredible. It definitely has the most real-time effects I've seen on an amiga.. distortion.. reverb.. delay.. etc... only thing is that monitoring is not dynamic.. locks the system up while a real-time effect is going on. Still this is forgivable.
I also have to do a pretty low sample rate (around 4khz) for some of the more demanding effects.. but hey i didn't do this to get clear quality.. I've got that covered with other gear.. if anything i need "crank it to 1khz" and see the sonic bliss / chaos it creates :) |
