Greetings Amigans!

Updated 30 Oct 15

It has been decided by a majority vote that the new user group is called

Plans are afoot to establish a regular meeting venue, I will report back here with any updates.

If you are interested in getting involved please use the link in this message to join our Facebook page or send me a PM or reply to this thread.

Kind regards,
Spud.

I will send you a PM.

I have updated first post with people who have said they are interested and will add to this (hopefully) as more people show an interest.

Also.. if anyone who currently is involved with an EXISTING user group - i.e. helps to run it, or even by simply attending, if you have any pointers and tips the more advice the merrier.. I have never organised a user group before (or much else for that matter) so I am definitely on a learning curve.

Kind regards,
Spud.

Hi Spudisgood,

I'm a founder member of the Lincolnshire Amiga User Group aka "LAG"

Our inaugural meeting was held on October 7th 2006.

See http://lincsamiga.org.uk/

The best things I can advise is

A committee and good administration.

A set of Rules for all your Group to agree too.

A well laid out web site so people can read and post up.

A good easily accessible venue with WWW.

(You've mentioned some of these already.)

You can borrow our user group Template if you wish.

See http://lincsamiga.org.uk/wordpress/index.php/about/

Good luck with your venture.

Regards, Michael

If you're visiting AmigaKit when you're next here send me a PM. Hopefully we can get a few of the Welsh Amiga users down to Cardiff for a little Amiga gathering.

Oh, man, I wish you were a bit further north! I would be interested but I'd have to be able to tie in going to meetings with family visits in North Manchester.

I'll be following this thread closely.

Best of luck with it. I would be,if not a regular member, an occasional visitor.

Fred

@spudisgood

I could be interested although I'm not much of an Amiga user these days. I do own a few classics (in boxes) and I like to keep an eye on what goes on.

I'm in Chester by the way.

I'm the leader of two user groups - FCUG (the more formal group) and SCCAN (the more informal group). If you have specific questions, send them to me in private, and I could give you pointers on organizing.

@OldAmigan

Yep, I'd like some user group love in Scotland too... However, being in Glasgow, the occasional trip to Manchester isn't beyond the realms of possibility, so I'll be watching this with interest. Good stuff, Spud, best of luck with it!

Edit 2: I see you've already posted on EAB, so never mind
