... as long as its not a capp.

This week I have been mostly ....

A1500 refused to boot. Kick 40.63 WB 34.30 1.3.3 40mb Quantum drive 747456. Basically just stripped the computer back gave a good clean. Checked all the ribbon connectors etc and then fired back up. Slight issue with drive on a slow boot, but to be expected. Left running a few hours and then rebooted hard and was fine. Been generally OK since. Just wanted some TLC.

Computer is running on an Electrohome Monitor.. man does this monitor have a lot of cables out the back.

A2000 with GVP 030 1859952 graphics 4338256 other Kick 37.175 wb 37.71 big hard drive and this computer was refusing to boot , green screen and no activity. Cleaned out thoroughly and dusted out but no joy. Wasn't happy with the way the securing screw was holding the GVP so removed it. Machine booted immediately. Resteated the card and then left running without fault. Normally after around ten minutes would lock and then just wouldn't run anymore. Since I reseated the card has been working without fault for two days.

Running on Microvitec

A2000HD 887176 free memory dead as a dead thing. Nothing other than a yellow screen and flashing red power light. Cleaned etc no joy. I then swapped out the Motorola and got a green screen. I then reseated the old Motorola and she worked without fault. Booted first time and has been working without fault since.

Running on 1084

A2000 3.1 RoM 40.63 38.35 on a 1942 947256 gr free and 2328728 other. Problems with drives , install and Parnet all throwing up errors. Just cleaned up the install and sorted out the Parnet... All working no problem.

This machine had a hard drive that refused to boot. Believe it or not I just lay the computer on its side for an hour or so and eventually the drive kicked in. Been working with the hard drive for three months now.

Running on1942

My other three A2000s out of boxes work without fault, check them every week. Two I have in original boxes havn't been checked for a while. No batteries and no hard drives so no worries.

This afternoon I have to fire up two A3000s one with AMax on it and two A4000ds that haven't been run for like three months. I am not anticipating any issues but in truth what ever happens they will be working by end of day.

I check... six A1200s, two 600s, three A4000d, three A500 [590], Checkmate, Plus[viper], 1200 tower, 2 1000s [1060] and now 4 2000/1500 from my collection on a daily basis.

Last week I checked a dozen plus A500/A500Plus and for the most part they all worked, A couple had dodgy drives that I know I have some work to do and the A5000 is yellow on the screen and thats a processor issue. But will be fixed. I am truly amazed each and every time the old XTs just boot in. A joy to behold. The trick is just keep rotating usage and have fun with the 'original' kit and avoid swapping out the ports and hacking them about. I am living proof that your Amigas will last your life time. Trust me, they will outlive me. That I can be sure.

Didn't need a hat in truth. I'm CAPPs locked out. There is always another way.

Well for me.. I guess I'm lucky.

scuzz looks like you've got a 'full time' Amiga repair/ IT job be good if Amigakit hires you on a contract basis to repair some miggies as they always seem to be backed up
