| I don't know if anyone is interested, but I was able to bootstrap pkgsrc on the AmigaOne X5000 running ubuntu. |

| First, pkgsrc is a source package manager. It works on Linux, NetBSD, FreeBSD, OSX, and other unix like Operating systems.
I can't seem to get apt-get to work. I downloaded the current stable version of pkgsrc, but I get an error no matter what package I try to install. So, I took an old copy of pkgsrc from my Amiga 2000. Then:
cd /usr
tar -xzpf ~/pkgsrc-2016Q2.tar.gz
cd /usr/pkgsrc/bootstrap
export SH="/bin/bash"
./bootstrap
Once that was finished, I tested it by installing git:
export PATH="/usr/pkg/bin:/usr/pkg/sbin:$PATH"
cd ../devel/git
You need to make sure there are no binaries
bmake clean-depends clean
bmake install
get clone git://git.qemu.org/qemu.git
Of course, once you log out the path will be gone. To set it permanently edit /etc/environment and /etc/sudoers and change PATH="/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games:/usr/local/games" to PATH="/usr/pkg/bin:/usr/pkg/sbin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games:/usr/local/games"
There are some issues, like I said, I could not get the latest version of the pkgsrc to work. Also, some packages fail and some packages that did install do not work.
I can make pkgsrc-2016Q2.tar.gz available if anyone wants to try it.
