I guess, its a stupid question, but is it even possible at this stage to get a finished Amiga system featuring OS4 and the microA1 out in the shops by Christmas?

Its too late isn't it?
Just wondering, as its a holiday or an A1 around Christmas time and I need to book tickets in advance if its the holiday.

Honestly, how far away are they?
What's the hold up?
I mean the microA1s are pretty much ready aren't they. I even saw one at Amiwest.
Is it OS4? They're pretty close now aren't they?
When about's will it be done?

I know we've been waiting a decade and all......but....just a clue would be good.

Does anyone have a clue, because I don't.

The Deathbed vigil mentions that Commodore went bust for failing to release for Christmas.
I'd hate to see that aspect of history repeat itself.

@Mikey_C & GazPS

LOL!!!

Seriously though, can't be too far off. I mean not high mass production as yet, but I think that it will be out soon (like within a couple months, but not approaching Christmas but before)

@GazSP

Your sig is a bit of a CPU hog! How about this:

int main( void )
{
  IExec->Wait( SIGBREAKF_MICROA1_READY );
  printf( "W00t!\n" );
  return 0;
}

It takes a single day to produce 10,000 microA1 motherboards.
So I guess Alan just has to say the word "Go" and we're in business. Then you test them, package them and ship them all around the world. I mean, that can't take that long to do. Conceivably it could take as little as month if all the plans are in place. It HAS to be a better, more professional distribution job than the OS4 pre-release, or a person will be waiting until Christmas the year after.

But I guess we would have required an announcement by now if it was for Christmas.
And then even if the microA1 made it to the shops, it would be nice if it was in a decently designed Amiga case. I can't believe we haven't heard anything about that yet. Why can't they get feedback from the community??? There's time........

I mean Sony's PSP isn't coming out until early 2005(or is it Christmas?) and everyone's known about it for ages.

Maybe the specs aren't finalised yet. Maybe that's the hold up.
I really wish they'd up the specs on the video in the microA1.
And OS4 can wait until the last second to be included in the package as well.
Its not like it would take a professional CD burning company more than a couple of days to produce 10,000 cds.

So, I guess it all depends on WHEN it is done, and then you press the GO button and they could crank everything out in time.

But surely, they could make an annoucement....

Ok. Going back to my happy place now.

Oh and I'd date Jolene Blalock...T'Pol from Enterprise.
Man......she's the hottest chick in the whole universe. She makes the chicks that were mentioned look fugly. If you don't believe me, just look at her new pictures in Stuff magazine. She looks ten times better than she does on the show. I nearly wet myself. Not revealing enough to buy the magazine though.

Wait, first you have to find a Pegasos owner. What are the odds of that?

I doubt if we would see an amiga in Dixons (Uk highstreet store) etc for a few years yet. It really depends on how many units they could be convinced in shifting and at the moment I doubt if a couple of thousand a year would be enough.
