Not that I wouldn't participate and want to idle there myself but I have
to ask the question why ?

Haven't we gotten all the answers already ?
The answers to the rest of the questions are pretty much "when it's done" anyway.

I think it's calling for trouble. ( I mean the usual IRC troubles )

Weren't there 20 questions that they promised they would answer if they
had the time, personally I think those questions would reveal more.

Good luck anyway.

Problem is that things have moved on and therefore some of the questions may no longer be relevant. Besides, this way more than 20 Questions will be answered

Hopefully!

@manu

I agree totally

I would rather have a little goodie now and then, than all these questions at once. And they can't say anything more than they are saying right now. If they have anything cool to say, they shouldn't say it in an irc session, but make a small news item out of it.

Come on people. It's a nice gesture and it's totally welcome. Thanks OS4 team.

I don't get it. When there is silence, people complain. When there is a chance to ask questions, there are complaints again! How one can make us Amigans happy is a great mystery!

Sorry if I say it thus directly, but that's ####. It should be known in the meantime that we NEVER answer question about completion dates, and whoever didn't get that yet will always get the "when it's done" answer.

There is nothing to be done against it. Mental stabilities go a long way, and it doesn't need to be an IRC conference to have someone go havoc.

Sorry, that's life. The 20 questions cannot all be answered by Thomas or me, so we'd have to pass them around, collect the answers, and get them in a presentable form. I'm sorry to say but this is too much work and hassle for the time being.

Therefore, we proposed to do an IRC interview. That is going to be one or two hours of work and we're done.

I am sorry that I cannot take the time to hand out a "little goodie now and then". I try to answer questions on forums, and I usually drop a hint or two. Writing that article recently has taken Thomas a lot of time and even I have spend one or two hours putting the finishing touches to the stupid layout of the thing.

Maybe you should wait until that day and SEE if we can actually say anything more than we are saying now.

I assure you that there *will* be a news item that day.

Regarding the IRC session:

As I stated multiple times, our time is limited. An IRC session is simple for us to participate in: We just come online, and answer questions... two or three hours of work, and that's it.

I started answering the 20 questions thing, and I could answer only, say, 12 or 14 of the 20 questions (the others were management related). It took me four hours to write the answers, and they weren't even very long.

Bottom line, an IRC conference is the best we can offer right now. Time is limited for all of us here at Hyperion, and it's simply not possible to dedicate more time to things outside real work on OS4.

Besides: All the time Hans-Jörg and me spent answering questions here in the fora were actually SPARE hours. Please excuse me that after having to face everything from mild piss-offs to death threads, I'm not willing anymore to spent my SPARE time with this anymore.

EDIT: There isn't any need to post the exact same thing twice on here. You have already asked the same question elsewhere. You want answers, who doesn't, but sometimes they can't give the answers you want for various reasons.

Remember, they don't owe us anything ok?
