Announcement   Announcement : IBrowse 2.4
posted by BrandonLee on 8-Dec-2006 11:39:17 (5525 reads)
From the IBrowse site:

"IBrowse 2.4 has now reached release candidate stage, and it is now in the final stages of testing, in anticipation for a release within the next few weeks. As most of you now know, we don't do release dates, but as promised we are letting you all know when we know a release is close - yes, "RSN" really does apply this time. Merry Christmas!"

Yabba dabba doo!!!! Stefan Burstroem rules forever!

Long live Ibrowse!!!

Hey Stefan, maybe we should have a race? Vroom vroom!
We will see if you can release a new Ibrowse before I release a new Total Chaos.
Neither one has been updated in years... May the best man win.

That is the best news in a long time, we (Total Amiga) will no doubt be writing a review in the near future!

Well, if 'I' win, I'll have to give most of the credits to Oliver and Dave. They have been the driving forces to pull this release through. They just consult me on the more tricky bugs :)

rgds,
Stefan

Is ibrowse team working tougether with marcik or something? Will iBrowse 2.4 have CSS support atleast?

I am using iBrowse 2.3 and at the same time also Sputnik beta, because it reads so many more sites. Also Sputnik is damn fast, which I felt that iBrowse was.

What is the feature list for 2.4 actually? And will it take 5 years more before version 3.0 will be out?

This is pretty cool. IBrowse is a superb web browser and back when I used my Amiga daily I preferred it to IE/Netscape.

Now all we need is the surprise from Hyperion and Christmas 2006 may actually be a positive one for the Amiga.

Yes please...

Will be my X-mas present (or birthday if released later) for myself. I'm really looking forward to this new version.
Tried the version that was on show at AmiGBG and that seemed good, if it have improved even more it will be a huge step from Aweb.

Looking forward to release date, thanks Burstroem and merry christmas to the Ibrowse team.
