Excellent news indeed, and congratulations (and thanks) to ACube.

I sold my OS4.1 machine quite a few months ago, but I still lurk as a well-wisher and am looking forward to developments like the netbook. I was not expecting to see the 440flex relaunched as a cheaper entry-level board but think it's a great idea.

Is there any chance of an affordable AmigaOne X250 (or whatever) being built around this? Nothing fancy required - just a prebuilt 440flex system with an AmigaOne sticker on a standard PC case.

For nostalgics like me, the legacy branding of OS4.1 is one of its plus points, so it would be great to bring that buzz to the lower price point. While I'm not in the market for a full-on project (which building a PC would be for me), I would probably struggle to resist a brand new AmigaOne complete system at these lower prices!

Great price for these boards. Anyone considering buying should remember to add cost of a graphics card as no on board graphics, of course Radeon 9250 can be found quite cheaply.

Looking forward to the Uboot update for my flex.

That's good news. I think the price is rather okay now. Thumbs up for Acube!

If you take into account the current Euro/UKP exchange rate, that is a really, really good offer.

Wow that would be under £500 for a complete system, if I did not have an X1000 (cough!!) I would definitely get one.

You will need to add VAT and OS4.1 price so I estimate under £600 for a complete system

Excellent!

Now there is no excuse for me being the only one in my Amiga User's Club who is running OS4.

Nice to see this entry level new batch of boards.

The Sam440ep i have is fine. Well i would need a little more ram (512 MB is not enought).
Now there is the possibility to add an additional pci-e card with a connector, thanks to the radeon drivers.

Probably not, as the board has no Xena whatsoever. Maybe rather AmigaOne 250 or AmigaOne 500+...

We need to get cost reduced PPC460 variant.

(I imagine also SAM440 would be up to 100eur cheaper if it was minimalized: no FPGA etc.)

@Amigakit (Fol?)

Now, now!

E270 + 20% (VAT) = E324 (roughly £280 atm)

I'd estimate around £400 for this entry level system (Not sure on OS4 price, but would guess around £120), maybe £450 with shipping.

For an OS4 system that's pretty miraculous. Congratulations to ACube, it'd be good to see them position themselves at a lower price point, as I do think the *460 based system are vastly overpriced (no offense intended, I appreciate the need to recoup development costs, make a profit, and justify aiming at a higher risk market with higher initial profit margin).

Given they'll still be making a fat healthy per-unit-profit on these, and these will still be small production runs, it puts into perspective the parts/production price of SoC based systems. They can be even cheaper, *really* cheap (eg Efika at $99 as a recent example in similarly small batches).

Wonder if they'll bring the *460 based systems down in price too...

Note that you have to buy RAM, HD and PSU to get it running. They dont cost much though.
