New website and new versions of Aros Vision |
| Announcement posted by OlafS25 on 10-Apr-2016 18:08:44 (1939 reads) |
I have some news
I have redesigned http://www.aros-platform.de, it is now not only visually improved but also fully supports mobile devices like smartphones and tablets.
The page also includes download links for AROS Vision RTG 3.1 (for UAE). The most important changes are different desktops (DOpus Magellan, ScalOS, Wanderer) and implementations of MUI (Zune, MUI 3.8 and MUI 4). The system files are updated and f.e. Amiblitz.
New to this version is AROS Vision PAL which has been optimized for slower hardware and is now much smaller. As I cannot test it myself I would be grateful to get feedback.

| News posted by RobertB on 12-Apr-2016 7:24:40 (1181 reads) |
Happy April, C= and Ami aficionados!
The Fresno Commodore User Group has its next meeting from 10 a.m. to 1+ p.m., Sunday, April 17 at --
Bobby Salazar's Mexican Restaurant 2839 North Blackstone Ave. (corner of Blackstone and Michigan) Fresno, California (559) 227-1686
Note the earlier meeting time - 10 a.m. instead of our usual 11 a.m start time.
In software we try the newest version of Jason "Pyrofer" Wright's 80-column C128 game, BoulderDash C128. For the C64, we'll go over the new Reset #08 magazine and its C64 coverdisk of games and demos. For the classic Amiga, we have the demo of the new game, Tanks Furry. For the VIC-20 with 24K RAM expansion, we look over the new game, Mah Jongg. For the Plus/4, it's the new game, Hugohunt.
For the hardware part of the meeting, we'll cover the various bits from the collection of Gerald Oborn, hardware like an extremely early motherboard version of a C64 housed in a VIC-20 case, a C128 with the Utilities Unlimited Super Chip, and an Amiga 500 with a v8 motherboard plus Kickstart 3.0.
Once again we'll watch newly-released video documentary, "Growing the 8-Bit Generation" -- this time part 3.

Icaros Desktop 2.1.1 ready for download |
| software AROS posted by paolone on 5-Apr-2016 13:49:27 (1763 reads) |
Update 2.1.1 for Icaros Desktop has been released. Mainly a bug-fix release, this new version includes OWB 1.25, fixes VICE crashes on exit and restores HDToolBox missing text. It also includes some updated AROS system components which were erroneously left outside Icaros Desktop 2.1.
Icaros Desktop 2.1.1 comes in the usual flavours: Icaros Desktop Live!, tailored for DVD-ROM media and provided with an already configured QEMU virtual machine for Windows; Icaros Desktop Light, the "core system" which can easily fit on a CD-ROM and a small pendrive; and a Update Pack for current Icaros 2.1 users.
