software OS4   Enhancer Software Released On AMIStore (OS4)
software OS4 posted by amigakit on 1-May-2016 20:50:09 (32900 reads)
Enhancer Software Released On AMIStore
Cardiff, May 1st 2016

A-EON Technology Ltd is pleased to announce that the new Enhancer Software has been released on AMIStore App Store for OS 4. The Enhancer Software is a collection of utilities, commodities, classes, datatypes and libraries with the aim of enhancing the AmigaOS experience. It is the result of about nine months worth of hard work by the AmigaDeveloper.com Team.

The Enhancer Software contains the debut pre-release version of Warp3D Nova and there will be free updates for Enhancer Software users as Nova gets updated over the coming months.

X-Dock is a new feature rich docking system. It makes it's public debut on the Enhancer Software.

MultiEdit is a new tabbed text editor included in the package with many other features.

Multiviewer, the datatype viewer gets an upgrade to version 2.2, adding new features such as image thumbnails and much more. It now uses the new Shared Image Class and InfoWindow Class.

Ringhio Notifications has had many internal updates over the last few months to bring it to version 53.53. It now features notification sound, colourwheel support, individual app configuration plus lots of bug fixes over the old version bundled in OS4.

TuneNet has been updated as a result of user feedback and requests. The User Interface now supports 4.1 FE features and our new classes such as InfoWindow Class and ProgressBar Gadget Class. The new version is exclusively included.

ClipViewer also makes it's debut. This is a new Clipboard manager which has integration with other applications in the Enhancer Software.

Exchanger is a new commodity and application manager which gives external control of running applications and commodities, including: showing or hiding the program GUI, shutting the program down, displaying the Workbench information requester for the particular program, enabling and disabling commodities.

The Enhancer Software package is available to purchase as two versions. A Standard edition containing the RadeonHD v1 driver and the CANDI Special Edition with four animated Workbench backgrounds, and a Plus Edition which includes the RadeonHD v2 driver with composite video support together with the full CANDI package.

Many of the applications on the Enhancer Software use the new gadgets and classes that have been written from the ground up to give extra functionality to the apps they serve. InfoWindow Class provides a better way of displaying Information and About windows and is utilised with most applications in the Enhancer Software. Similarly, the new Shared Image Class is used by MultiViewer and ClipViewer.

We are also pleased to have licenced Joerg Strohmayer's Amiga software for the Enhancer Software including new versions of SmartFileSystem, AmiDVD, PartitionWizard and DiskCache Library.

Amigaworld.net News   AmigaKit.com Back Online And Open For Sales!
Amigaworld.net News posted by amigakit on 30-Apr-2016 15:17:01 (2371 reads)
Unfortunately, due to an unexpected server hardware fault, the AmigaKit.com website was offline for nearly 40 hours. We are extremely pleased to announce that it is now open for business once again.

During this extended period, although we could not take online sales, existing orders continued to be processed and shipped using our internal backup systems. Please note that there will be a short period of time whilst order history data synchronises with the ordering system.

We would like to thank the many customers that showed great support and understanding through their email and telephone communications with us. We appreciate your good wishes during this difficult period of time.

We are very happy to be back online and looking forward to serving the community once again with Amiga hardware and software.

Software News   PortablE r6 beta released
Software News posted by ChrisH on 27-Apr-2016 10:42:22 (4112 reads)

PortablE is a recreation of the AmigaE programming language, along with all the improvements I wanted. PortablE works on AmigaOS4, AROS, MorphOS, and even Windows to an extent! (It should also work on AmigaOS3, but compiling needs a powerful machine like WinUAE.)

This is a small update, which improves (OS4) ReAction support, makes any generated MUI/ReAction code human-readable, and fixes a few bugs.
.

Previous versions of PortablE were aimed at existing AmigaE users, but PortablE now aims to be attractive for new users too. Although it's still "beta", it should work well, and further incompatible changes seem unlikely.

See the main manual for everything that has changed since r5. There have been the following big changes since the last beta:
* Built-in procedures can now support unlimited parameters (although only some have been updated to use this ability).
* Improved MUI & ReAction modules to use procedures with unlimited parameters (instead of immedate tag lists). So the C/C++ code generated for GUIs is now human-readable!
* Added the NoListOptim switch, so that the code generated for Immediate Lists can be more human-readable.
* AmigaOS4: Added the 'intuition/menuclass' module, aka "AISS menus", and the example program "Examples/Amiga/OS4_ReAction/MenuClass.e".
* When a bug exception was thrown during compilation, it could give the wrong message. Now fixed.
* Fixed a few module bugs.

You can download it from here:

OS4Depot

PortablE comes with documentation, but you can find on-line documentation, examples & the latest version of PortablE from it's homepage:

Amigaworld.net News   New open source hardware from OnyxSoft
Amigaworld.net News posted by Develin on 26-Apr-2016 22:31:49 (2176 reads)
OnyxSoft releases open source hardware =)

JoyDivision

This adapter was created because we missed to be able to control my old games in emulators
with a real controller (Joysticks), just as they where inteded to be played =)
This adapter is created as a HID that doesn't requires any specific drivers (thanks to V-USB which is used).
That means that you just need to plug it in, configure your emulator to use the HID-device and start playing!

One other nifty thing we added to it (also from V-USB package) is that this unit contains a special bootloader
which enables the user to update/replace the firmware without having a special programmer, only a USB-port and
use a software called HIDBootFlash (read more about this procedure below).

Having this bootloader enabled means that one can change the firmware to it's own needs.
We plan to add firmware for other input devices (like Amiga and Atari mices etc.)

The archive contains source code (firmware and bootloader), Schematics, BOM and EAGLE-files.

We also shared the PCB-layout (if someone want to build it themself) at OSH Park :
https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/eoh7Ay5p

ps. we can create adapters for anyone who cannot make it themselfs ofcourse (for a small sum) but consider the first batch
of 20 units went of to users within one day we need to organize it a little and therefor there can be a little wait until
a bigger new batch to be ready. but if you want one, declare your interest at following email :  joydivision@onyxsoft.se
