Celebrate 30 years of Amiga at Recursion: Sat 4 July, Stratford-upon-Avon |
| Events posted by yoodoo2 on 2-Jul-2015 10:48:57 (2344 reads) |
Just a final reminder that Recursion is returning (as it should...) and will take place at King Edward Vi School, Stratford-upon-Avon on Saturday 4 July 11.00-16.00.
Join us to celebrate 30 years of the Amiga - meet up with user groups, have a play on the latest hardware and have a chat with Amigans of all shapes, sizes and flavours! AmigaOS4, MorphOS, AROS, Classic Amigas, all side-by-side and not a pointless row in sight!
The fair is completely free to all visitors and exhibitors and we are always keen to cram in another table of goodness: pm me or email rmbATkesDOTnet if you'd like to be added to the list of exhibitors.
In addition to the Amiga madness, the RiscOS Midlands User Group will be holding their annual summer show as part of Recursion and the Retro Computer Museum will be bringing more retro and vintage systems than you could possibly play on in just 5 hours!
There will be plenty of new stuff to have a go on too: hundreds of Raspberry Pis to play with; virtual reality experiences thanks to Oculus Rift; unmanned drone flight training; electronics and programming workshops and loads, loads more.
Recursion is the ideal fair for geeks of all ages and vintages. See the Recursion 2015 website for more details:Recursion

MUI 4.0-2015R2 for AmigaOS4/PPC and AmigaOS3/m68k released |
| Software News posted by tboeckel on 30-Jun-2015 7:36:21 (3497 reads) |
The MUI for AmigaOS development team is proud to announce the immediate release of version 4.0-2015R2 of the Magic User Interface for AmigaOS4/PPC and AmigaOS3/m68k. Please find the release archives in ourdownload section.
Like all former releases a keyfile is required to enable all available settings. Old keyfiles from MUI 3.8 can be used without any restriction.
Please note that MUI4 for AmigaOS3/m68k is definitely targeted at powerful systems with a fast CPU and a fast graphic board. Although it is still possible to run this release on a real 68k machine an emulation like WinUAE is very highly recommended. Also colour-mapped screens with 256 colours at most are still supported, but MUI4 makes heavy use of fancy true-colour images and effects which cannot be provided on colour-mapped screens with the full range of possibilities.

Airsoft Softwair is proud to present the immediate availability of MUI Royale 1.3. This update contains bug fixes and supports more MUI 4.0 features. Please note that MUI 4.0 is now also available for AmigaOS 3, so there is no reason to keep on using the old MUI 3.8 from 1997. Starting with MUI Royale 1.3, the *.hwc and *.hwp files have been merged so that MUI Royale is just a single binary now. Furthermore, users of Hollywood 6.0 will be happy to see that the installer makes all MUI Royale examples available in the Hollywood GUI now automatically.
MUI Royale requires at least Hollywood 5.2 and is provided free of charge for all users of Hollywood. It is available for AmigaOS 3 (m68k), AmigaOS 4 (PPC), MorphOS (PPC), and AROS (i386). The package comes with over 20 example scripts, many of which are direct ports from the MUI 3.8 SDK by Stefan Stuntz, but there are also original developments like demonstrations of how to create a video player using the combined power of Hollywood and MUI. On top of that MUI Royale comes with extensive documentation in over 300 PDF pages which are also available in the HTML, AmigaGuide, and CHM formats thanks to the Hollywood documentation system.
All this makes MUI Royale the truly royal MUI experience, carefully crafted for you Kings and Queens of MUI! (screenshots: shot1.png shot2.png shot3.png)
Download now available at the official Hollywood portal @ http://www.hollywood-mal.com/

This release was brought to you by Airsoft Softwair - the hardest working men in code business.

I've get some feedback from last releases and I tried to accomplish every task asked...
Also added in that new release the Opus5 "compatibility" option (via ToolTypes) for LoViewThumb and reworked the LoViewThumb numberizing and multi-renaming functions to have a more user-friendly program! I tried it and for me was enough friendly :)
Please feel free to left your feedback!

Amiga Future 115 preview and excerpts are now available online |
| Announcement posted by AndreasM on 22-Jun-2015 13:38:34 (1795 reads) |
The full colour preview and excerpts of the Amiga Future issue 115 (July/August 2015) are now available online.
Some of the interesting articles in this issue are:
Interview Paul Gardner-Stephen (Mega65) Review Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force Review WHDLoad
Of course there's so MUCH more actually in the magazine.
Needless to say you'll find some FULL versions of software, often what was commercially available, as well as some of the latest try-outs or freely released software applications and games for, hopefully, all of the Amiga type Operating systems, so that's Amiga 'Classic', OS4, MorphOS, and AROS, including some PD software for these systems, all on the cover CD.
A detailed description of content and excerpts can be found at: http://www.amigafuture.de/kb.php?mode=cat&cat=13
The Amiga Future magazine is available as an English and German printed magazine - every issue is available in FULL COLOUR - directly available from the magazine editorial office and also from various other Amiga dealers.
