Amigaworld.net News   Public Release of MorphOS 3.8 Featuring Sam460 Support
Amigaworld.net News posted by ASiegel on 15-May-2015 10:55:23 (10421 reads)
The MorphOS development team is proud to announce the public release of MorphOS 3.8, which introduces support for ACube´s Sam460 series of mainboards and numerous Radeon graphics cards from AMD´s X1000 and HD series. In addition to various performance improvements related to the Quark kernel, Exec, 3D graphics and video playback, MorphOS 3.8 also adds the ability to use state-of-the-art 4K displays in their native resolution. For a more extensive overview of the included changes, please read our release notes.

As usual, existing MorphOS users can update to the latest release entirely for free. Sam460 owners who are interested to register MorphOS for their system will be able to do so for 49 EUR.

We strongly urge new users to carefully read our installation and troubleshooting guides before they attempt to install MorphOS for the first time. Existing users can upgrade via the familiar procedure but are encouraged to read the guides as well. MorphOS 3.8 is available for download in our files section.

software OS4   AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition ISO images for download
software OS4 posted by Cyborg on 14-May-2015 14:08:34 (19242 reads)
Brussels, May 14, 2015

We at Hyperion Entertainment CVBA are more than thrilled about the overwhelming success our customers made out of AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition! Thank you!

Actually the success is so great, causing especially the supply of AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition for Classic to dry up during the last weeks and some of your preferred dealers even ran out of stock already, which is of course unacceptable!

software AROS   Aros Vision X86 1.0 uploaded
software AROS posted by OlafS25 on 10-May-2015 9:07:07 (1823 reads)
I have just uploaded first version of Aros Vision X86 1.0

It is "Windows hosted" that means it can started as a application without needing VMWare or dedicated hardware and without any installation. Disadvantage: no sound or network support. That also means that software that requires network does not start (the case for some games). Most applications work. It is also suited for developers to test software.

Events   Celebrate 30 Years of Amiga at Recursion: Saturday 4 July Stratford-upon-Avon
  Events posted by yoodoo2 on 5-May-2015 18:58:16 (2119 reads)
Following last year's highly successful event, Recursion returns (as it should...) and will take place at King Edward Vi School, Stratford-upon-Avon on Saturday 4 July 11.00-16.00.

Join us to celebrate 30 years of the Amiga - meet up with a user group, have a play on the latest hardware and have a chat with Amigans of all shapes, sizes and flavours!

The fair is completely free to all visitors and exhibitors and we are always keen to cram in another table of goodness: pm me or email rmbATkesDOTnet if you'd like to be added to the list of exhibitors.

In addition to the Amiga madness, the RiscOS Midlands User Group will be holding their annual summer show as part of Recursion and the Retro Computer Museum will be bringing more retro and vintage systems than you could possibly play on in just 5 hours!

There will be plenty of new stuff to have a go on too: hundreds of Raspberry Pis to play with; virtual reality experiences thanks to Oculus Rift; unmanned drone flight training; electronics and programming workshops and loads, loads more.

Recursion is the ideal fair for geeks of all ages and vintages. See the Recursion 2015 website for more details:
