software OS4   AmigaOS4: Version 2.1 of the native version of AAMP published.
software OS4 posted by CygnusEd on 21-Dec-2023 11:29:51 (724 reads)
AAMP offers a development environment on your Amiga, with which you can create and test your own web projects. Similar to the well-known XAMPP package for Linux and Windows, it contains the HTTP (web) server "Apache" with compiled-in support for the scripting language "PHP" (version 8.0.28 and 5.2.10) and the database server "MySQL" version 5.5.10.

AAMP is not only interesting for developers. This means that web applications can also be run locally on the Amiga. These are e.g. the database administrator "phpMyAdmin" or the image manager "Coppermine" - just to name a few.

You can create your own tools with the included "php" interpreter. "PHP" is easy to learn and with its extensions a powerful language.

Last but not least, data can be managed with the "MySQL" database server, which can then also be accessed via the network. External programs (e.g. IODBC) can use this server as a database backend.

New in AAMP 2.1:
  • The "AAMP-Control" tool is now available for the central administration of all servers and settings. In addition to Apache and MySQL, it can also be used to manage the PHP development server and the Subversion server "svnserve". The scripts "Start_AAMP.bat" and "Stop_AAMP.bat" are now obsolete and no longer included.
All other start and stop scripts are still included, but the use of "AAMP-Control" is recommended.

  • Update of the Apache web server from version 2.2.11 to version 2.2.34.

  • The configuration of the Apache SSL module is now complete and working. So that clients can work with it without problems, there is a selection of CA root certificate collections in the Contrib folder, which also contain the server's certificate. Simply replace the required file of the client or browser.

  • The package now also includes a complete package of "phpMyAdmin" in version 5.0.4. This has been patched for better compatibility with PHP 8 and is already preconfigured. The package will be installed automatically during the installation of AAMP.

  • Optimized autostart at system start or when starting "AAMP-Control".

  • Update of the CA root certificates (Mozilla certificates as of 20.11.2023).

  • The default WebDAV directory is now "AAMP:Apache/uploads" and no longer "AAMP:Apache/htdocs/dav".

  • The Subversion package has been recompiled using the new Apache 2.2.34 libraries.

  • Various bug fixes.

    Amigaworld.net News   AROS One v2.3 x86 ABIv0 Realised
Amigaworld.net News posted by AMIGASYSTEM on 15-Dec-2023 12:02:26 (1321 reads)

AROS One 2.3, new version of the AROS x86 Distribution ABIv0, in this release there are many new features, Core and Third Party Software updates, in the list you can see in detail all the update

This is definitely the most stable version of AROS x86 ever released, many fixes concern Wanderer and Hardware compatibility, the hardware compatibility catalogue has also been reformulated, HERE you can consult it.

For the installation a clean (ex-new) installation is recommended, this is because the Core, configurations and location of some folders have changed, possibly for those who have their own configurations could make a backup and if compatible install them later.

For the next releases there will be huge changes to the Core which will be based on the latest ABIv11 source code, thus the same C library as the ABIv11 builds.

In addition, an emulator will be developed that will allow 32-bit AROS programmes to run under 64-bit AROS.

Amigaworld.net News   SimpleSub v2.0 now available on OS4Depot
Amigaworld.net News posted by ktadd on 12-Dec-2023 6:39:15 (666 reads)
SimpleSub is a progam to create/edit .srt subtitle files and optionally
encode the subtitles onto the video.

SimpleSub 2.0 now uses ffmpeg v6.0 or greater to encode subtitles.
Mencoder no longer supported. (Download ffmpeg from OS4Depot.)

This has allowed the addition of many new capabilities as followings:
    - Change the Size, Color, Bold, Italics and Underline text within each title
    - Global setting for font selection, title position, title style and title colors.
    - Support for the most popular video and audio codecs when encoding.
    - Realtime preview with all settings applied.
    - Start preview from anywhere within the title list.

    Download SimpleSub v2.0 here.

Wow! 2023 is almost over. Christmas is nearly here. T’is the season of giving, and I’ve decided to give you another chance to get ZitaFTP Server at a 20% discount (just like the early-birds did). D.I.S.C.O.U.N.T. An eight letter word that gives you the perfect excuse to treat yourself. Plus, it’s Christmas.

ZitaFTP Server is an easy to set up and use FTP server for sharing files from one computer to another. It’s available for Windows and AmigaOS.

So, how do you get your 20% discount? Add ZitaFTP Server to your cart, and use the coupon code CHRISTMAS2023 at checkout (or the cart page).

Hurry though, or it’ll be gone! Just kidding. The coupon code will keep working till the end of the entire Christmas Octave (i.e., 1 January 2024).

You probably do want to act now, though, or you'll forget. Imagine waking up on January the second and realizing you missed out. You don't want to be that person. Better do it now...
