AmigaSYS 4 - WinUAE version released! |
| Software News posted by Dary on 20-Apr-2008 0:27:31 (5140 reads) |
It is a bit late, but finally the new AmigaSYS has arrived. Perhaps this version took the most time, but it was not for nothing.
Anybody that has used the older AmigaSYS systems before will see huge differences. The new AmigaDOS 3.0/3.1/3.9 installers are finished with 3-4 times more knowledge and with support for five languages. Both new and old users will experience a lot of new and interesting things in AmigaSYS 4. Almost every install is supported, and maybe the possibility of installing AmigaOS 3.9 without needing to have 3.0/3.1 will attract more people to try it...

Already, we have put the next disks (251-700) of the PD games series "Spielekiste" online at the Amiga Future homepage as DMS files.
We will publish more disks from this series very soon.
(We are trying to find anyone who has the Spielekiste disks 725, 726, 743, 755!!!)
Some Fullversions/Keyfiles are new online, too.

I have created an IRC channel for the AmigaE programming language. With ECX being actively developed. Plus PortablE nearing the end of it's beta (development) phase, but not yet publicly released outside of the AmigaE mailing list. I thought now would be a good time to create an AmigaE IRC channel for anyone interested in programming in AmigaE. Really, its about as good as time as any to revive some interest back in the language.

45 - A tribute to Daniel Hansson |
| News posted by Kicko on 14-Apr-2008 16:14:35 (2381 reads) |
After the tragic passing of Elektron co-founder Daniel Hansson, a compilation of music featuring the instruments he helped creating has seen the light of day.
"45 - A tribute to Daniel Hansson" features unreleased tracks from 30 artists, some of them very well known to the public. The compilation is an initiative coming completely from the Elektron-users web community and we at Elektron are very moved by this. We really have the best user base one can imagine.

Delfina: The DSP makes the difference! |
| Hardware News posted by Wiesel on 11-Apr-2008 23:05:07 (5103 reads) |
Soundcards for the Amiga are continuously popular, but only one soundcard has a freely programmable DSP - a specialized audio processor. With this concept, the Delfina strictly follows the old Amiga-idea to do as much work as possible with specialized hardware in order to take load off the main processor. We have taken over the Delfina from Petsoff in 2003, but only published a software update once.
After more than four years, we're especially happy that Axel Schneider has taken over the development of the delfina.library in his spare time since october 2007. The original author Teemu Suikki (Finland) has published large parts of the Delfina software under different open-source licenses. For the first time, we're publishing the source code for drivers of a product that you can still buy in the shops and that's actively developed. Although it seems to be quite fashionable to increase prices for classic Amiga hardware, we don't see a reason to follow that trend. The price of the Delfina "flipper edition" of 129,- EUR(*) is still more than 140,- EUR under the price of the predecessors made by Petsoff.
