I have created an IRC channel for the AmigaE programming language. With ECX being actively developed. Plus PortablE nearing the end of it's beta (development) phase, but not yet publicly released outside of the AmigaE mailing list. I thought now would be a good time to create an AmigaE IRC channel for anyone interested in programming in AmigaE. Really, its about as good as time as any to revive some interest back in the language.
Since the channel is brand new, there are not many in it right now, so don't be discouraged. Hopefully if we can obtain some regulars coming back to the channel it will gain popularity. I think IRC is a great way to gather information and discuss things about your favorite language.
Thanks Chris! We had several people pop in today, but I'm hoping for many more. I think this is a great time to bring back some Amiga programming! With a way to code modern versions of AmigaE, it makes it exciting. Classic, MorphOS, OS4 and AROS are all being supplied in one way or another with AmigaE style programming right now.

Why not instead simply join #amigadev on AW irc? That isn't a C or C++ specific channel, and not like there are that many people in there talking at a time...just don't see the 'need' for even more 'segregation' when many will wind up on both channels regardless?

I actually did think about that. But I thought it would be better to have it's own channel. We are not trying to segregate away from the dev community. This is just a way we can talk about the language we are interested in which is AmigaE. When people come to the channel, they know this is for AmigaE and it won't get lost in the large mounds of C programming talk.
