TAM EXCLUSIVE! Individual Computers Reveals Clone-A Project |
| Hardware News posted by rhino on 11-Oct-2006 6:59:51 (12157 reads) |
In an exclusive interview with Total Amiga's Magnus Johnson, to be published in issue 25, Jens Schoenfeld reveals Individual Computers' latest project. For the last year Jens and Oliver Achten have been working on a cycle-accurate reproduction of the Amiga chipset in FPGAs under the codename Clone-A.
Jens and Oliver will be demonstrating prototype versions of the Clone-A chips mounted in a real A500 motherboard at the AmiWest show on the 21st of October. To prove the compatibility of the implementation, even in its current form, Jens encourages show visitors to bring along A500 compatible disks to the show to try on the Clone-A.

New Cygnix programs for OS4 available |
| Software News posted by CygnusEd on 10-Oct-2006 16:39:56 (12143 reads) |
On OS4-depot are four new packages for the X11 environment Cygnix available:
* Cinepaint 0.21.1 (image manipulation program) * Gimp 1.2.5 (image manipulation program) * vim 7.0 (text editor) * Xfce 3.8.16 (desktop manager)
All these packages are alpha versions. This means, that some functions of the programs are not working or some tools are missing. The development is stopped for the moment, because I need time for some other projects. I published these projects in the hope, that it could be usefull for the community. Please look at the READMEs for the missing features.

Nova Design Selling Off One of its Lines of Business |
| Software News posted by Kermit on 10-Oct-2006 2:24:54 (3456 reads) |
Financials Asking: $45,000 Inventory: $4000 approx. (included in the asking price)
Business Summary Cinematte was created in 1995 as part of the Amiga (a computer popular in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s for desktop video) software package, ImageFX. Cinematte was one of the first true digital bluescreening software packages for compositing actors, and other subjects, photographed against a blue (or other compatible solid color) background into another photograph, film or video. While many applications on all platforms attempt to provide methods of realistic compositing, Cinematte is one of the few that can do this easily and realistically using the same methods pioneered in Hollywood features.
