Software News   Software News : New Cygnix programs for OS4 available
   posted by CygnusEd on 10-Oct-2006 17:39:56 (9833 reads)
On OS4-depot are four new packages for the X11 environment Cygnix available:

* Cinepaint 0.21.1 (image manipulation program)
* Gimp 1.2.5 (image manipulation program)
* vim 7.0 (text editor)
* Xfce 3.8.16 (desktop manager)

All these packages are alpha versions. This means, that some functions of the
programs are not working or some tools are missing.
The development is stopped for the moment, because I need time for some other
projects. I published these projects in the hope, that it could be usefull for
the community.
Please look at the READMEs for the missing features.

Wow Gimp on OS4 X11 I'll have to give that a go I use to like playing with that on Linux. Keep up the good work.

Oooh, interesting

I don't know too much about this x11 thing so excuse my question if it's a little ignorant. Is it possible to 'skin' it or something similar so that it looks more Amiga like?

FuZion.

@all

Thanks - have fun!

@FuZion

Yes, it would be possible, but we would need an other window manager for this.
There is a window manager on Linux, which makes the window decoration look
like AmigaOS 3. I have no time for this, but if someone like to do it...

@ssolie

I want to thank you very, very much - I didn't expect such a donation!
I think it is not necessary to say, that I don't get much appreciation in this form.
Would be fine, if some more would consider a small donation. Although I'm happy about every positive comment!

This is for you:

Greetings from germany!

Woww! GIMP works well and is faaaaast! If you manage to get the plugins to work, this will be probably the biggest step forward for our platform this year. Keep up the good work!

Btw, where do you accept donations? Do you have a webpage?
