ReactionChat released |
| Software News posted by jahc on 10-Sep-2004 1:16:17 (2832 reads) |
I have just released a small reaction based IRC client for AmigaOS 3.x on my site. ReactionChat Download
I started making an IRC client about a year or two ago. It was going to be based on Reaction, but I had problems with it.. clipboard support in the listbrowser class was a bit lacking.. when new text would appear in channel, the listbrowser would display it and bring that bottom new text into view - which makes it impossible to read the scrollback buffer in a busy channel

A new version of my Autodoc viewer for AmigaOS 4 is now out on os4depot.net. (development/utility/autodocviewer.lha) This version fixes a major bug that could cause the program to crash when viewing a file. There is now also the posibility to search through the displayed text..
I have also uploaded a new version of my XBill port for OS4. (game/misc/xbill_os4.lha)

AmigaOS4 native port of VCDGear available |
| Software News posted by Cyborg on 9-Sep-2004 17:24:00 (4236 reads) |

Jacek Rzeuski currently lacks the time to continue work on Directory Opus 4:
"The development is on hold and I have no idea when I'll resume it. The GUI changes towards BOOPSI are only partially completed and I stuck on handling RMB on bankbuttons. Intuition doesn't pass RMB clicks to BOOPSI gadgets so I have to find a way to emulate it and notify gadgets manually.
If someone needs an updated version for AOS4 or even a native AOS4 version then feel free to get sources from the CVS at sourceforge.net then modify and compile them. The BOOPSI changes are not committed to the CVS so the sourcetree should compile and work."

Intel Announces 65nm Breakthrough |
| Hardware News posted by Seer on 8-Sep-2004 22:51:38 (3337 reads) |
| "Intel claims to have achieved a significant milestone in developing next-generation chip manufacturing technology. In what is proving to be a self-fullfilling prophecy, Intel has managed to shrink transistors enough so that chips can have more of them. It was Intel's founder, Gordon Moore, who, in 1965, claimed that the number of transistors on a chip would roughly double every two years. This prediction has come to be known as Moore's law and this latest achievement, Intel claims, confirms its founders prediction."
