@All,

Which language do you enjoy or use the most ?

Myself I really enjoyed Basic (all favor) as I found it so simple to understand, and it was the first language I ever used !
I use to program on the Vic20 and C64 Basic, then AmigaBasic, QBasic, GWBasic, AMOS and a few other flavors found on other systems like the Thomson (TO7/70 - MO5/MO9), Apple IIe, etc...

Now it's more Pascal (Delphi ONLY ) as I found it quite powerful for my needs with its fully customisable GUI (Custom VCL for example, etc...)

I also did (and occasianally still do) quite a bit of Web Development in HTML, JavaScript, XML,...

But the one I prefer of them all is Delphi !

PS: This is not a "conversion" thread, or "mine_is_better/Bigger_than_yours" thread...

Oh... programming languages?

Well, I used to play with Easy AMOS and AMOS Pro but never achieved much.

#EDIT# bugger... was beaten to that joke!

I code in Java and VisualBasic at work. I would like to use C++ (or Java !) for Amiga development.

Ciao

@abalaban

yes it is my desire, but the problem is that I have written only 10 lines of C++ code in my life. I don't know enough of the C++ syntax to develop for AmigaOS. I would like C++ more than C because of the Object Oriented approach.
I'm going to attend the developer conference at Pianeta Amiga to have an introduction to Amiga programming.

Ciao

Voted for C, although I'm quite partial to Locomotive BASIC as well.

I seem to remember enjoying m68k Assembly as well.

@AmiGame

The one I use the most is C.

The one I like the most.. well, that's a more interesting question. I've used BASIC, E, Perl, PHP, ARexx (oh, and Installer). They all have their place, I'm particulary fond of ARexx although I probably use it least. Conversally, I hate C but I use it most (and I've kind of got used to it)

If you are developping Java on everyday basis at work, I don't think writing C++ will be a real pain. Only you would have to familiarize with the functions (STL, but they are primaly based on the template and Iterator concepts, once you understand both you are ready to use the STL).
However on Amiga C++ is mainly used to organize/develop your classes, API's are still plain C (i.e. not C++ framework to access AOS).

Hmmm, lucky you !! Being at almost 2H by car of this show...

I'm glad you made this a multi-select vote. I use Basic and C and some dialects of Assembly. I've even written some Basic code in C. (Namely the string handling routines for Mattathias Basic.)

I'd have to say that I use AREXX the most, if only through rxMUI! I'm in the very slow process of learning C though.

I'd like to learn Python, seems similar in purpose to Perl but has the added advantage that you can read it (and that's coming from someone who likes Perl!)

I'm currently doing Java, if you think PC programs are bloated try running Eclipse - this is an EDITOR which takes > 150MB!!!

I'd like to get into C / C++ on Cell. I understand the concepts involved and have even written about it but haven't done any real development yet.

I used to do C on the Amiga many years ago...

I code C# .Net for a living currently, but I find C and assembler much more fun. I like to know what's going on at the lowest level possible, and get the shivers everytime I see something like this in C#:

if ((bool)MyArray["Something"]) {
// bla bla
}
