| Hi all,
I'm in need of editing some small videos I made.
I need to cut out some pieces os several videos (MP4/AVI) and stick 'em together. Perhaps with some blend effects.
Also I need to cut the sound track and replace it with some music (mp3)
Thats all I need from the software, besides being easy to operate.
As there is nothing like this for Amiga (is there) Well blender comes to mind but I said easy to operate..... Besides it should be fairly fast and since my SAM isnt that, I'm stuck using my WinPC....
Any sugestions ?
Thamks all

Have you tried Windows Live Movie Maker? OK So it's Microsoft, but it is also free so you don't get a hole in your wallet if you don't like it. I use it for basic YouTube video stuff. _________________ Amiga A1200, 3.1 ROMs, Blizzard 1230 MKIV 64MB & FPU, 4GB DoM SSD, Workbench 3.1 |

Indeed, Windows Movie Maker is actually very good in Windows 7, you'll need to download it, but it's free, part of the Windows Extras pack iirc. |

Go for the Windows movie live video maker or what its called. Saves you time and pain :) There is tools that you can work on amiga but it would probably just eat up alot of your time. knowing what format goes with this, with that etc. Probably will come later som updated tools which makes it easier then now but still saves you time with windows. |

I managed to do some basic video editing* using ffmpeg, avisplice and Mencoder from os4depot and elsewhere. Put together audio edited using AudioEvolution and title made using Hollywood.
* Well, editing and editing, I watched the clips in mplayer with OSD enabled wrote down the time for the different cuts in a ffmpeg-script, created a "soundtrack" with AE, synchronized with said OSD read times. Used avisplice to put together clips and Hollywood title. Finally adding the soundtrack, together with subtitles using Mencoder.
It was... interesting. Or, tedious is perhaps a better word. But it didn't take me too long.
And here's the result: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUbEe9nNxdg it's in swedish (can you guess the voice?), sounds horrible, and looks... well.
Edit: oups, forgot the link. Last edited by jaokim on 17-Jul-2012 at 07:36 PM.

| I used videoclipper and ffmpeggui for the video and some subtitler, dont remember the name of the app. All uses either mencoder or ffmpeg. Used them for x1000 hd-rec video. HD-Rec is nice app if you want to cut/paste and stuff in audio but theres other lighter soundeditors too.
Tips:
If you want to transfer big video files with usb cable and camera and if it stops do use a memcard reader or connect the camera to a pc and transfer there. If you want to use videoclipper without having to reencode audio to save time they should bee in same audio source. for example if you want to join all videoclips taken with your camera then its fine.
I believe Kevin is on Summer Vacation but atleast he has x1000 so know who will be busy :) Last edited by Kicko on 17-Jul-2012 at 07:55 PM.

| I use OpenShot, running on AV Linux on a bootable USB stick. Far, far more features than MovieMaker (which I hate in its current incarnation): Multi-track, plenty of effects, chroma key, fades, etc etc.
I tend to stitch the main audio together in Audacity first then add it and other sound effects etc in OpenShot. _________________ Happiness is mandatory. MindSpace: MindMaps and UML diagrams for OS4

Well this software works on Aros and I have all the source code if somebody wants to take it on, i.e. port to AmigaOS4. However, I will only release the source to people if Aros and AmigaOS4 improvements are worked on for obvious reasons and I would like to be involved in guiding the design.
Ian Gledhill created the basis of a great program, admittedly based on my design because it is what I wanted as a paid project, however, his real work took too much of his time and so we agreed to leave it for a while.
I am happy to talk to anybody who wants to take it on.
Right now it is capable of creating custom "croutons" or video building blocks that can be cropped or straight video clips or image sequences and then all joined with extra sound/music overlaid and then output at any resolution.
Remember it is using MPlayer and Mencoder to do the main work but the interface has great potential.

As Kicko said, use VideoClipper and ffmpegGUI and possibly SimpleSub from OS4Depot. They will use ffmpeg, mencoder and mplayer as backends.
I made this video (HD video in MOV with h264 codec) the last few days using these tools Since the A1-XE can't really do HD I firt recoded (using ffmpeg(GUI)) the clips into a lowres mpeg2 to pick out the times and select the clips in VideoClipper. Ask the author for a new beta version that has project load/save working :)
Especially VideoClipper is very nice when creating a list of clips and joining them together.
The I use ffmpegGUI to add music and possibly recode into a different master format. _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft. |

| If you want to go the Amiga route, doesn't Blender offer video editing capabilities? I've never tried it for that myself though, but I had heard it.

I've got Adobe Premiere Elements lying around. Not the modern pro version, but still a very good editor. Runs on WinXP nicely. Can be yours, for free, if you want...

Have you tried Windows Live Movie Maker? OK So it's Microsoft, but it is also free so you don't get a hole in your wallet if you don't like it. I use it for basic YouTube video stuff. |
Windows Live Movie Maker offers simplicity and no cost; suitable for simple YouTube videos. |
