| Hi
Just read this thread with interest. I used to work somewhere where I had to use PC floppy duplicators (and then CD ones!), but I doubt you could get it to play with Amiga formatted disks without alot of extra work/modification.
I currently am looking to archive several hundred floppies, mostly from the PD library I ran for a while back in the day... I have got an A1200 up and running, and bought the AmigaKit EasyADF compact flash package to try and make the transfer process easy. However, it seems quite a slow process... I used to use DMS for most things and recall that being quick - so does anyone have an opinion on the best way/software/method to do this task? I see quite a few times people talking about doing this "one day" for their own collections!

The quickest way would be to search the net for the collection already in ADF/DMS format.
What was your PD library called? I might already have them... _________________ OS4 Rocks X1000 beta tester, Sam440 Flex (733)

I did this in the past with my collection. I network up 3 Amigas via envoy to 1 Amiga Emulation (Winuae). Each Amiga would automatically detect a disk change and then dms up the disk to the Winuae server.
The only downside was not all disks had disknames, I was storing the dms as 'Diskname_count_A1200_1' or 'A1200_2 etc so some disks were _23_A1200_1.
I managed to do around 1000disks, thou not all of them copied due to Errors or copy protection methods. Also diskspare devices didnt get dms'ed
It was all done by Amiga shell scripts and a program I hacked - cant remember wat it was called but its from aminet and executed the S:startup script every time the disk was inserted. I just modified it to run my own script every time the disk was inserted Last edited by TheAMIgaOne on 06-Apr-2012 at 12:53 PM.

The lastest version of TSGUI allows to archive many disks in one go. ADFs are named automatically by a user-defined scheme. All you need to do is to change disks. The more drives you have the longer you can leave inbetween while the computer is working.

| One day I plan to get some adf CD ROMs extracted to HDD, then I will start going through my 500 floppydisk collection + originals. I rip/encode the ones I do not yet have and do not yet work + originals.
I'm a bit annoyed that cryoflux does not support AmigaNG platforms, one would need to use some x86 linux or win/osx. (bounty needed???)
(during modern times, I do not share the collection, its for myself. I sare things like AMithlon via torrents, and legal stuff (AROS torrents etc...) ... tiny help for the community)
I believe there is not Amiga torrents site yet? Perhaps Aminet/AOS4depot could also have torrents for some bigger files, one day. Last edited by KimmoK on 06-Apr-2012 at 04:10 PM. My previous library system was named "LibraScan." Perhaps you can find our collections there if they're not yet converted to ADF or DMS formats. Let me know how it goes! :)

@Professor Smith, your recent article challenges my perspective in the field of quantum computing and its application to cryptography. I've been pondering over a few points you raised regarding qubit stability at room temperature that seem incon |
