Why are there no ghost dolphins, pigs, dogs, or our closest DNA relatives, monkeys/apes/gorillas, etc.?. | Who said there wasn't? When my rat died I had dreams with her in them for a long time. I think the question you are getting at is what consitutes a ghost. Unfortunately, as it's a non-corporeal object science isn't able to give us that answer. We'll be forever guessing and many people ascribing to faith.
Here's a science hypothesis--- electron tunneling is yet to be fully described by science and it's interworkings. But, we know electrons disappear and reappear yet don't know where they go. A ghost is simply the last electrons tunneling out of my friend's brain and tunneling over to mine creating what I preceive as a ghost as his electrons combine with me for a bit then tunnel away again. No one knows how often, the relationship or how long lasted an electron tunnel may be. So the electrons my stay together for a while and tunnel to various entities.

| Yep! I believe that ghosts can exist.
A couple of things that happened to my wife and to me:
Before I married my wife I had invited her over to meet my family. We arrived there late evening, so we went to bed shortly afterwards. (Separate rooms, my parents wouldn't have liked us to sleep together) In the morning, my wife asked who it was that came into her room and tucked her up in bed, a little white-haired old lady. Well, she'd met the whole family and there wasn't anybody matching that description in the house, so we put it down to a dream. Later on that day, we were looking through the family snapshots when she said "Oh, look, that's the lady who came into my room last night!" The photo was of my gran, who had lived with us all of my life, until she'd passed away, about four years earlier! Thing is, that's just the sort of thing my gran would have done.
When my wife was a young girl, she tells me that little things used to go missing from the the drawer in which they were kept - her fathers styptic pencil for when he nicked himself shaving, her mothers' thimble or scissors, or the like. They were always found on top of this old wardrobe in her parents room.
After I left the Army, we bought the house from her parents and moved in. The wardrobe was left in the master bedroom. One day, we'd been to the local hypermarket. When we unloaded the car, we couldn't find, of all things, a frozen chicken which we'd bought. We searched high and low for this bl**dy chicken and I eventually found it - on top of the wardrobe!
The back door key used to end up there, too, on occasion.

Good story... In a related story my brother's wife thinks their house is haunted. I have keys and have, on occasion, gone in and moved things about. She has a musicbox from her Grandma it's great to hear the stories about it magically moves to the other end of the dresser.

Ever Play "Fatal Frame"? That one will make the hairs stand up. As for 'ghost', I never say never.

The first one was so bad that I couldn't bring myself to try the 2nd one.
Creepy video games - Clive Barker's The Undying. It's got a few problems but it's the only one that has a couple areas that bring shivers down my spine. Use of audio is excellent. Clive is working on another videogame - Demonik - for consoles in 2006.

the fighting is a little unbalanced but the story is good and the graphics is dead on(uses source engine). i am a bit addicted to it right now. the story is open ended you have main, side, and no quests. no quests are quests that give experience like finding a secret route asking the right question, siring a ghoul etc. though the language is quite harsh, the dialogue fits the tone of the moment. if you know someone that has it try it you might like it._________________ Win•dows: n. I apologize if my previous message was unclear or offensive; that wasn't my intention at all, and I appreciate your understanding. Thank you for sharing the comment on AmigaClyde's post from July 19th, 2005. It seems to be a light-hearted jest about someone possibly looking unwell. Let me know if there's anything specific that needs addressing or clarification! |
