| Iris 1.33 is out!
- Restored context menus over folder and message list title rows - Narrow view message list title row now has a sleeker menu for quicker access to sorting and filtering modes - Implemented the ability to add a custom button to the toolbar |

| Iris 1.36 is now available for download and via auto-update.
This version moves authentication of GMail/Outlook/Yahoo mail into a browser window presented within Iris, instead of launching Wayfarer. Several minor issues were also fixed. |

You beat me yet again :)
Gotta say after over 136 updates or so Iris is just a killer app for MorphOS. It's so modern and capable. I use it every day to schedule meetings and everything else email related. The only two remaining asks I have (He recently put a paperclick for email attachments, so I'm down to just two requests) is ability to cancel a meeting and an integrated calendar.
I'm confident at some point the cancel feature will be available.
The calendar is a bit more far reaching obviously, I have lobbied for PolyOrga to be used and integrated, but that seems unlikely at this point. Sad, given how kick but PO is at this point.
Regardless, Iris is just a great email client at this point... That alone is a good reason to use MorphOS :). |

Thanks!
A bunch of us guys use MorphOS to either run businesses or use it for work. It is a great time to use MorphOS. Simply because the software written for it is so good and actively developed. The OS is also pleasant to use with multiple monitors, it can stay up for many weeks without a reboot. It is a pleasure to use. Put it on a Single Processor PCIe Mac with with a 2.5GHz CPU and a heatsink and not much more I could ask for...
That is why software is where it is at for me, if and when they ever port MorphOS it will be a real solution with great software. That seems the logical direction for now. Running 3.x or 4.x in emulation on fast hardware is nifty for about 10 minutes then the novelty wears off because the software selection and maturity is very weak.
Iris as just one example compared to all the other email programs available in Amigaland is light years ahead now and fun to use. Jaca and others are great to work with and add features that are requested. Last edited by Matt3k on 21-Sep-2024 at 06:55 PM.

| Iris 1.39 is now out!
Changes since the last public release:
1.39 - Location of the folder caches may now be changed in settings
1.38 - Faster displaying of messages that have already been downloaded to disk - When marking all messages in a folder as read, perform the action in steps instead of trying to mark all messages at once to workaround Outlook servers timing out
1.37 - Caching email contents locally is now several times faster - Enabling caching for folder or account immediately starts downloading all emails - Disabling local cache for folder or account wipes all downloaded emails - Fixed a bug where email address autocomplete wouldn't pick up any results from Contacts - Fixed a bug in SelectAll/None/Unread functionality when used from the mail list context menu |

| 1.40 is out with some minor improvements and bug fixes
- Iris will now warn before quitting while it's still synchronizing local caches - Emails with calendar event attachments are now marked with a calendar icon in the messages list - Improved cache path validation code - Fixed synchronization progress bar disappearing too early - Fixed a bug where the cache path could change to PROGDIR: when changing unrelated settings |

Iris and Wayfarer are indeed KILLER APPS :D We need good Word processor and Presentation Software and then MOS is in a way modern and usable OS
Coupled with x64 port and MOS can rule Amiga world :D _________________ OS 3.x AROS and MOS supporter, fi di good, nothing fi di unprofessionalism. Learn it harder way! SinclairQL and WII U lover :D YT http://www.youtube.com/user/rasvoja |

Don't forget about PolyOrga, Pagestream, and dual screens. Seems like MicroExcel is taking a break for now, and I think there was some effort to get Final Writer over. Final Writer 68k works just fine and TurboCalc is a really good spread sheet. So I still need about 3 apps that are 68k. RDP works perfectly to connect to another PC or I can use a containing off the NAS in wayfarer.
I use MorphOS for work all day every week and it is just so good now.
Life is good these days in MorphOS land! |

PageStream is pretty good for word processing too, and Hollywood Designer for presentations. Both are available as native versions._________________ - The wiki based MorphOS Library - Your starting point for MorphOS - Software made by jPV^RNO |

I do use PageStream for 80% of my word processing and it works great.
I use Final Writer to spell check.
I will have to look into Hollywood and see how good it works for presentations. The biggest issue will then be how to share the screen for a presentation. I don't know of a way to do that...

If you don't figure out a solution for that, you can always create a presentation on MorphOS, but then export the presentation as an executable or video to be viewed on some other setup._________________ - The wiki based MorphOS Library - Your starting point for MorphOS - Software made by jPV^RNO |
