@ppcamiga1
That's the ultimate MUI machine, I wonder why you've chose AmigaOS 4 over it

Updated my main PowerMac to it.

Impressions:
1. The install experience is really good. It noticed an issue with my System partition and fixed it before the update process.
2. 3.19 now checks to see if you have a newer version of Wayfarer and Iris before it installs them. That fixes and annoyance with prior version!
3. It also noticed that I didn't have enough space on system and has a cleanup feature to remove backdrops and old backups. Really nice touch.
4. Put the disk in and 10 minutes later, reboot and done.

MorphOS has all these nice touches of a modern and well developed OS.

Only minor annoyance is that my main monitor is 4k and MorphOS doesn't select the best settings when booting off the cd. So I just went to screens and sent it to my other 1080p monitor, problem solved.

So far after 30 minutes or so, works great...

Noticed that browsing and YT was improved/sped up in 3.19.

Some of the fixes helped performance.

Big thank you to the MorphOS Team, you guys are the unsung heros in AmigaLand :)

@Matt3k

Can I now install it on my A1 X5000/40 without downgrading my gfx card?

@Valiant

Don't think so.

Bigfoot is still in the middle of drivers as far as I know and I really don't know the specifics off the top of my head.

I'm using a X1900 PCIe G5 Mac edition and it flies for most everything and drives 2 monitors perfectly.

imho, for the net gain in OS and software, the usage of an older video card is well worth it.

You may want to purchase a PowerMac PCIe system since they are so cheap and Altivec on chip makes a large improvement in MorphOS performance since it relies on it.

So you loose by not having the later video cards today, but a big gain for OS and media performance with Altivec.

Noticed you have a 3000T, great system. Love mine. Just hate moving it around, she is a beastie for sure...

Just a thought, good luck!

@Matt3k

Thanks, I guess I'll just continue to patiently wait which is something we Amigans have become very good at.

@Valiant

If you don't have one, may want to create an account on Morph.zone.

You can ask bigfoot and see the details of where the drivers are for what cards on the forums.

Since my card works, I don't keep tabs on it... :)
