As already noted, personal attacks have no place.

However, reasonable discussion, and yes, including criticism, are the point of a discussion forum, and are not unwarranted nor 'disallowed.' Those that show themselves to only exist for the sole purpose of posting or 'contributing' to try to turn every discussion to their own ends (as in, continually make personal attacks, simply fan the flames without point, or try to use every 'setback' or thread to guide it to their own favorite topis, whether x86, peg, whatever) will be dealt with on an individual basis, but that does not mean by any stretch of the imagination that people should not be allowed to express their opinions, or disappointment, etc.

Really... People should reread this thread, then dig up some pre 2005 threads longer then 4 pages, read those, then dig up some pre 2004 pages and read those..

Same arguments, same sides, same people, same end result.

Well, maybe a bit black and white said, and perhaps not totally fair. But hey, this is the Amiga Community, always willing to help out others.

I'm sure that everyone here is frustrated by the lack of hardware for the Amiga and the many announcements by charlatans that never seem to have materialized over the years, but some people just went too far this time.

Although I applaud critical thinking, and believe that some of the skepticism is justified due to an apparent pattern of not delivering on-time, claiming that the product is vapourware and implying that this is somehow intenational on Adam's part is going just a tad overboard.

I've met Adam twice of the past 3 years, and on both occasions, I've walked away with the impression that he was a very bright and capable guy while being very decent and quite approachable, unlike so many with his kind of talents. So although, I'm sure that to many of you this may appear to be some conspiracy or lame attempt at getting some attention on his part, my gut tells me that you are seriously wrong on this count. Although I'm curious as to how a one man team will be able to pull this off and bring it to market while still managing to break even, or god forbid, make a profit, I still tip my hat off to him for trying valiently anyway.

Feel free to be critical thinkers, and be skeptical about announcements, but please try to refrain from employing such venom while you're expressing your opinions. It just serves no useful purpose whatsoever and acts more like flame bate than flame retardant.

BTW: As I'm writing this, I'm noticing that ACK Controls / Adam is online, so he's obviously still lingering around and possibly even reading this thread. I hardly think that some nasty comments will sway him from completing his project, so please don't panic about this, but please tone down some of the venom that's going back and forth between you and at Adam if not for his sake, then at least for the sake of the remaining Amiga community and what's left of it.

Being cynical again, that's as good a way as any to end a terrible hoax (miss deadlines, then angrily quit when someone gets too upset).

Hopefully ACK will realise he shouldn't be so upset by the insult of a stupid user (along with a background of mostly justified moans about another missed dealine, before anyone knew the reason why).

I also hope that ACK realises he wouldn't be getting any complaints if he refrained from making predictions, and instead just announced his actual progress. (And if there be no progress to announce, although something is nearly ready, then damn well have a bit of patience and wait till then to announce it.)

Have any quote/link?? Because i got the impression from earlier posts by hyperion that they have not seen any evidence of the hardware yet at all.

If they have infact seen it and posted about it, then it is sad that i ddint read it, because that might have been enough to change my belief regarding it being vapor or not.
