Answer: we have decided to pursue a full industry standard OpenGL ES implementation, which of course will take another two years to develop.

Answer: Ah ha.. Ssolie we gratiously accept your pledge to volunteer to write the OS4 programming books yourself.

I have a question for them.

What are the prospects of AmigaAnywhere being ported to AmigaOS 4? Is it in the works? If it isn't, could be be made to be in the works in the near future?

Related to this question:

Q: Does the "OS4 contract" allow you to port AOS4 to PPC/Cell-hardware made by companies that do not approach Amiga Inc. themselves - as an example, could a stand-alone version of "OS4 on PS3" be legally possible if Sony does not "apply" for a license?

Here's one...

What means do you use backing up OS4 source code ? (I assume you do this )
Do you BU every time you change something or only once a month/week ?

I ask this because it will not be the first time I heard 'I lost the source code of my project 'cause of a HD crash..... '

Anyway, just curious

Cheers !

Martin

@Wol

Those 20 questions was replaced by the IRC-session with Hyperion back in December.

Peter has 6 apples and he give 3 to Sally. Sally gives one third of her apples to Jane who also recieves half of Peters - How many apples does Jane have?

Q1: In other words; has the compulsory hardware licensing and bundling scheme been abandoned yet?

(@hatschi: If not, I suppose it would still be theoretically possible for a 3rd party "Amiga" dealer to apply for an AInc licence to sell PS3s bundled with OS4. Provided that Sony would permit it... *tee-hee*)

Q2: If the answer to Q1 is no, then does anyone currently hold such a licence? Who? For which product?

@Seehund

I can answer that question right here and now. And the answer is

"How the hell should I know, I'm a programmer"

No, that sounds too much like Seehund-question. The Friedens probably wouldn't answer that.
You gotta try it a bit more through indirect means, not with the sledgehammer. Oops, sh*t, now they know my tactics...

My point was that some people are posting dancing bananas in "OS4-on-PS3-threads" while at the same time repeating their "but Hyperion doesn't have a license for x86" or "Hyperion can't port to Pegasos without A Inc. agreement" ejaculative prayer. Rather contradictory.

edit: Oops, too late anyway, Rogue just posted before me.

@ Hyperion
Will you add support for Linux device drivers to AmigaOS? This will help becouse there are alot of good hardware companies like NVIDIA that have driver(s) for Linux, but for one reason or another are unwilling to port their driver(s) over to the AmigaOS.

@fatman2021

The answer to that question is NO.

Linux driver’s vs Amiga Drivers are just like Chinese vs Japans, from user pint of view a driver is just some binary data that you store on your computer, drivers are really where connected to the kernel design of the OS they run on.

your basicly asking Hyperion to make Linux OS emulator really.

Peter has 6 apples.

He gives 3 apples to sally, so is now left with three apples.

Sally has 3 apples, and gives one third (one of them) of them to Jane

Jane now has one apple, plus half of Peters apples (one and a half apples - as Peter was only left with 3)

so 1 apple + 1 and a half apples = 2 and a half apples.

Does that answer your question?
