Thanks, that helps. Shame L8-X had to go, I thought he was good.

When did Seer become a mod?

Yep --- although (hopefully) for slightly different reasons than the other names :)

Another way would have been to post the Sherman quote: "If nominated I will not run. If elected, I will not serve."

Well, you made it very clear very recently what would have happened had you been a moderator. Not only did you loudly demand that Seehund should get banned for 90 days (for posting a single banana --- yes, I can see how that might upset you, but I can also see that it's actually quite a subtle, clever and funny way of expressing his opinion, which he is entitled to do), but you even staked your own future on getting your way (which in one sense is an admirable show of conviction, assuming you actually stick to it, but on the other hand comes dangerously close to trying to blackmail the moderation team).

That is not the level of moderation I, personally, would welcome, so yes, sorry, on my "who do you want to be a mod" list, you are not scoring too well.

Quote:

Thanks for removing Ssolie from your list, he is not a person to place on such a list.

Darn --- someone *did* see the post prior to editing. I was hoping to get away with it :)

I went down the list of nominations, and one impression of "ssolie" came into my mind (thus getting him placed on the "please not" list). When I posted, I found that while writing, he had posted a good comment; So I went and read more of his comments, and found that I must have confused the name with someone else. SOMEONE deserves to be on that list (and it's probably one of the nominees) instead of ssolie, but I I don't know who. My apologies go to ssolie for getting him confused with that someone.

I should probably have found out who the actual culprit was, but (a) it was, like, 2am or so, (b) the cricket between the West Indies and Australia was heading for a really close finish (Go Windies!), and (c) I had just spent a couple of hours rewriting a board submission by my boss, removing all needless provocation, condescension and other inflammatory content (a job I ended up with after essentially "moderating" his first two drafts, prompting a "well, you do it, then!" kind of reaction --- as I said to DaveyD, moderating has an added thrill when you know that both sides of the communication can get you fired from your day job :). So I plead tiredness as an excuse :)

It's the "Fishing Cat" at Sydney Zoo; Took a weekend trip there a while back, and he (she?) was just posing for photos. So I had to oblige :)

Yes, I think these are fine choices. Send out the pole with the hook on it and drag them in.

Oh, that is sort of sad. I think he would do well.

As for me, most of my time is spoken for. A year from now though I will be retired and more available. Only 49 weeks to go. Yippy!

Wow! Would you believe that at the unionized job where I work, I too have '49 weeks to go' before I'm earning the top wage?

I was considering going part time once I earn the top wage so that I could have more personal time to work on projects, like getting back into coding things for fun.

Oh yeah, and maybe getting out and meeting women, cause I'm a single guy! heh

No problen

Btw. did you actually read why he made the "a single banana"?

I know I should not have made it in the public, but have contacted the moderators directly, but I was taking the directly was as he is used to do... But I know that it was wrong.
