@ThePowersThatBe

Isn't it time to at least put 6.html as index.html too? Very suprised there wasn't already a "corporate" site to activate today.

And where is any news on the Hyperion website? I would imagine you'd be getting plenty of hits from nosey people looking for "official" info and finding not even a mention?

Great news by the way, more info on price realise difficult when you can't state the CPU - but case designs and a picture of "the finished product" would be nice.

Awesome news for the scene..
Let's all start developing some stuff for that machine... ;)

And let's tell the news to our friends, who have abandoned the Miggy long times ago..

Hope there is a laptop somewhere down in the pipeline as well.

I don't know what plans A-EON has regarding distribution of the machine. I'm just the kernel guy, you know...

Wow!!!! Thanks Hyperion. I can smile again. I will start saving my pennies.
All the Best,
And now I mean it, Happy New Year,
John Paul

Here in Italy tomorrow 6th of january it is the Epiphany holiday.

It is a second time for good childs in Italy to receive gifts, toys, candies and goods, not delivered by Santa Claus and deployed under the Christmas Tree, but to be received into empty Stockings by the "Befana" Ancient Good Witch.

It seems that we in Italy at least received an Amiga gift just for the Epiphany...

We are darn lucky!

Well I think that it is just the moment to join us in the celebrating this Saint Day and just enjoy you too this Epiphany happy holiday with the glorious gift made by Hyperion/A-Eon to all Amiga Community.

But remember that if you just were too much often a bad child, then the Befana Good Witch will leave only dirty coal in your stocking...

Happy Epiphany of Jesus Christ Holiday to every Amigan worldwide, to your families and relatives, and to your friends too.

Quote:

La Befana vien di notte
con le scarpe tutte rotte
porta un sacco pien di doni
che regala ai bimbi buoni
Viva, viva la Befana!

The Befana on night time comes
And she had broken shoes
She carries a bag of gifts
which to good childs she gives
Long Live the Befana!

And remember, "the Epiphany carryies within away, the last winter holiday"...

Also Merry Christmas to all those who profess Orthodox Christian Ritual using Julian Date System.

It is a very pleasant coincidence that you too received this Amiga gift just for your winter main Saint Holiday.

You sound just as cryptic as the A-EON website teasers!!

Is there some sort of language barrier here! In English 'meant' is the past and past participle of the verb 'to mean'! What the heck has that to do with Hyperion's hardware partners?

Well, after thinking for a while...

I like this idea of this...

The new hardware should be out "before summer" so for arguments sake I'll say 3-4 months time...

That's a fair while to get some money together... I know what I'll be spending that money on :) I'm gunna get me a shiney X1000 :D

What will I do when I get it? Well, play with OS4 again that's for sure :D
Develop a few simple apps to get me used to AmigaOS programming again
Then have a bit of a play with the Xena, which I will keep accidently telling people is an XCOM chip instead of an XMOS chip lol...

But after I fail at making anything for the Xena, I'll probably just write some simple little fun apps.. no time for big projects these days.

Honestly I can't see the problem with using "I meant" in that context, so that might be a language barrier. I don't know, but let's forget that.

Anyway the thing I was trying to say is, I think this project (by Hyperion and their partners) is very exciting.

Dude are you having issues reading? He meant Hyperion's hardware partners not Hyperion themselves - A-Eon are the HW partner, they are the one's making this thing - they in turn have their own HW partners I'm sure.

@Marko

Nothing wrong with your English or explanations mate

Rude!

No, sending java/javascript away from a multi-kilo-mips CPU, over a (comparatively) slow link, to be processed by a 100 mips[1] CPU with all of 64kB of memory will *not* make for a smoother user experience.

Cheers to that. I'm not going to read through 1000+ new comments, but I suspect it's not clear to everyone that the XCore is neither a general purpose processor nor a GPU-like stream processor.

EDIT: BRAWNDO--er, XCORE! It's got what computers need! It's got electrolytes!

Well then, how well is the kernel working on the CPU.
Can there be two kernels running on the CPU. One with mp enabled and one standard AOS4 kernel?

What is holding back AOS4.1.1final release for SAM?

Is there a plan to get X on SAM?

Maybe not totally?

@jahc

"limited set of customers"
"company's existing dual-core processor"
"Does all of this mean Apple will create a new version of PA Semi's chip? Nope."
"Apple has abandoned any efforts to push the PA Semi architecture forward."

Do I need to say more ?

Will you run OS4.1 or a new version on X1000?
