Created https://sourceforge.net/projects/uboot-amigaone/ but it doesn't seem fully "in" yet. Will upload some sources later when I'm at home.Last edited by billt on 10-May-2010 at 09:32 PM.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/uboot-amigaone/
The SourceForge project seems to be working now. Initial code uploaded to the repository, as received from the source. This is a git repository, as is used by the mainline uboot host at www.denx.de. I'd like to do things their way, so we can work toward merging into the mainline code there at some point.
There have been changes in mainling since the code in our repository here. A large change is that the x86 bios emulator was moved out of the boards/MAI/ directory and now lives elsewhere, but let's not bother trying to mimic things like that until we have what we're given here able to compile at all under the ELDK.
I'm told that previous work on the AmigaOne code used the ppc-amigaos-gcc compiler under Cygwin. I'll try that as well as I have not yet, but I'd really like to be using the same tools as the other uboot people use, even if that means we're not moving to compile inside of AmigaOS. Though perhaps at some point we'll have things compilable there as well. _________________ All glory to the Hypnotoad! |

BTW: I put billt's PDF on my web server (aw.net definitively needs a way to upload pictures and other files). The PCB has a size of 60.96 x 55.88mm (so that you can check, if the print out is correct). |
I got to thinking, this PDF is a USA letter paper size conversion. If you guys use A4 instead, does that scale properly or does it get stretched?_________________ All glory to the Hypnotoad! |

| For bug tracking, what should we go with? There's already some stuff posted to http://bugs.os4depot.net/?function=viewissues&softwareid=6 Do we have access to the os4depot one, or is that something we'd have to get into through Rogue all the time? I don't seem to have any access to change assignee of each issue there and things like that...
And there are some various threads on this forum site.
Sourceforge provides a tracker as part of the project hosting there as well.
Any suggestions where to store everything?
What about combining the SAM uboot sources into this as well when reach a stage that this makes sense? (right now it does not make sense as the SAM sources are far newer version than this AmigaOne source version) Or is it better to keep things separated between the two board families? What about potential future boards?
Is there a port of git to use in AmigaOS 4.x? Last edited by billt on 11-May-2010 at 05:31 PM.

Thanks for setting up the project!

Oh, I didn't even think about that. I'll create a new PDF ASAP.

IMHO it would be better to have a single bug tracker. I suggest to transfer all bug entries from OS4depot.net to SF.net.

I think that should be Acube's decision. But I would welcome it, if we all benefit from it.

I hope so, otherwise we have a problem._________________

The PCB seems to fit in my AmigaOne XE:
Photos
I have printed the PCB schematics from a PDF I have exported from Eagle. The printed PCB was roughly 1 cm wider in both sides than the original measures, but there was still place for the PCB, although one of its edges was very near the two PCI connectors. I hope that the photos are clear enough, my camera wouldn't allow me to make closer shots.
Now we'll have to find an A1 SE owner, I'll ask around for help.

Yes, the distance between this specific edge and the PCI connectors is the biggest problem. I took measurements of my A1, but you'll never know, if they didn't change the layout between board revisions (even if it is unlikely).

I think the A1SE should have the same layout, but I would like to check that before the PCB will be manufactured.
Thanks a lot!_________________

An user on Iksnet's board has offered his help to make the check on his A1SE, he'll try to do it this weekend, no promises though.

Thanks a lot for supporting this little hardware project!
I'm still optimizing the hardware and I think I can order some prototype PCBs in the near future. _________________

I dont understand what you mean, do Hyperion now give you the OS4 special stuff to build a new uboot and this new uboot can boot OS4 too ?
without this Hyperion code you can only use new uboot to boot linux and so new uboot make no sense i think. |
