Sorry, no progress yet. I'm busy with my daily job at the moment so that there's no time left for the AmigaOne. I hope I have more time for the project in October (fingers crossed). _________________

Resurrecting this old thread, I have three photos of the PCB layout on an A1SE, made by an user on amiganews.it:
http://s240.photobucket.com/albums/ff261/Varthall/UBoot-A1/
(the first three photos in the album)
I have asked the author to verify if the printed PCB measurements were correct, unfortunately I got no answer from him, I hope that the photos will be anyway useful.

Thanks a lot for your help!

I'm afraid he put the layout on the wrong chip! The flash ROM is on the same position as on the A1XE boards. But now I see that the AMR slot uses the space I need for the second flash ROM on the PCB. That's really bad! Maybe we find some PLCC plugs that are higher than a PCI slot connector. Otherwise I don't see a posibility to use the DualUbootA1 PCB in the A1SE. Unfortunately that also means you can't use the nearby PCI slot.
BTW: I just ordered two PCBs, which I'm going to solder over the christmas holidays. Actually I wanted to do that earlier, but as usual there were a lot of other things to do._________________

Another thought. Since AMR slot was never actually used for anything, why not remove the slot connector for it? :)
As I remember there were a few different height options for the PLCC plugs. I forget what the max was, but perhaps a couple could be stacked f really needed.Last edited by billt on 29-Nov-2010 at 07:33 PM.

Or just use ths slot to support a dummy card? No fingers on the card.

I would rather like to avoid that.

That's probably the best option.

Actually a PCI card with the two flash ROMs would work for all A1, but occupies a precious PCI slot.
@all The PCBs arrived today. I didn't check, if they still fit. But let's hope for the best.Last edited by Geri on 28-Dec-2010 at 01:27 PM.

I would love to do massive testings with my A1XE933.
Is there a chance to get a PCB?
Greetings zErec

| Here too XE, no more than 800 to 933.. Must stop testing. Too much distance I beleive?
Please test and I'll buy a reasonable priced add-on to the XE.
PM-Then. Thanks. Last edited by PR on 28-Dec-2010 at 10:15 PM.

I think it's worth asking if people want these boards again when a new version of Uboot is ready for public release.
I'm sure there are quite a few owners who'd appreciate the extra peace of mind when flashing their ROM. |

That's true and a new U-Boot release will not be available in the near future.
On the other side I'm searching also for microA1 owners that would like to support the uboot-amigaone project by testing U-Boot development versions (which could break booting). Users that flash a real new U-Boot release shouldn't need a DualUBootA1 PCB._________________

| Here's the first photo of the mounted PCB:

Programming one of the flash ROMs works fine and the write protection works, too.
Now I just need to attach a small DIP switch to the PCB so that I can easily switch between the two flash ROMs without opening the machine. Last edited by Geri on 14-Jan-2011 at 12:55 PM.

Excellent work Gary, I think this deign might be useful other projects in the future too, officious not the most complicated thing, but you need the equipment and parts, and there is officious as risk attaching some thing that have never been in use/ tested, its so easy to make mistakes.
