Let me be very clear here to everyone. I am not going to allow this thread to degenerate to some 5th grade jokefest about reproductive organs. You want to do that? Take it to Free For All (but keep it clean as this site is open to minors) and keep the TOS in mind.

Yes it looks like a male reproductive organ. Yes that was not a good choice. Yes they should probably change it at some point. Time to move the conversation here along beyond that.

If anyone continues in that vein in this thread it will be taken as directly disregarding a request from staff.

Thank you.

Generally, a visitor to a site should be able to make out what the site is about and how to navigate it by scaning the front page in a couple of seconds. Those first seconds are so important, othervise you will loose the visitor if he gets lost.

I think these are fair criticisms.

No problem,

Actually the fall back website should satisfy all of the posters who dislike the main site as it answers most of their criticism about immediate access to content and organistion of layout? I wonder if it does? Hmmm!

Remember this is supposed to be a temporary website to provide information and updates, and provide some fun, while we concentrate on the more important task of releasing the A1-X1000.

@TrevorDick

It could serve that purpose, yes. You could put a link to it in the footer of the fancy site, like other sites have accessibility modes down there.

Well, I kind of agree... Perhaps, a couple of measures to improve the site could be:

* The "Click menu thingy" could be moved to the left side so it gets easier to notice faster
* and on the "Contact us" and "Register" page, try a darker font color so it gets easier to read the text.

Otherwise, as I said earlier I like the overall site pretty much as it is... it serves its intended purpose now in the beginning at least, IMHO.

EDIT: typo

Don't know if it has been mentioned before but for me just the bubble for the News item "lights up" when moving the mouse over it, not the others (although they all work when clicking them).

I'm using Firefox (Iceweasel) 3.5.8 in Debian Squeeze.

Anyone who needs IE and is currently on IE6 should in most cases download IE8. Safer, better layout etc.

That's odd, clear your cache and retry, they all have a mouse-over here.

So why the hell do you feel the need to keep posting about it then ?

If you are not interested then don't contibute to this thread.

For example I have ZERO interest in AROS so do not bother to read those threads. I do not spend hours writing about how crap Aros is in them. So why do you keep posting in threads that do not interest you ?

Jesus, the guy gave his honest opinion. I may not agree with the way he expressed it but it's still his opinion.

@Zardoz

For what its worth my impression of BillE's objection is more centered around the way its being expressed repeatedly and why one might be doing such. It would have taken less effort to just write plainly his opinion. The extra effort tokai expended seems to be for the purpose of agitating others.

@fairlanefastback

I agree that there are people who repeatedly stated their opinion but I do not read Tokai's comment like that. He stated it once, some, you included, asked him some questions and he answered them. It's not quite the same as going "It's crap" "no it isn't because x, y, z" "no it's crap crap crap", which is what happens some other times.

@Zardoz

I give tokai some credit for being honest in his exchange after being asked questions, no doubt. But I still see the original post as being meant to bait and considering we are a hobby website I can see why some people would be put off by the "flourishments" of saying something is "uber crap" and "if the idea is to make it as bad as possible to get attention then this is probably working great. Even I wasted my time here to respond about it, as you can see".

I'll leave it at that.

I can't believe this thread is still going.

Has anyone stopped to consider that what the website is showing us IS the MAP!!

It is clearly AmigaOS5 workbench!!

Obviously better than MacOSX.

And you thought it was vaporware.

@fairlanefastback

I have to wonder, when will the volume of your analyses of the intention of other people's posts exceed the number of posts that have anything to do with the topic at hand?
