Hi all, Ive just sent an email to Shoutcast to obtain a Developer Key. Maybe able to make a man-in-the-middle application or Tunenet hack to get the 'Internet Stations' fix.

I did try to track down what shoutcast changed when we lost the search function, seems they did away the "classic shoutcast", thats why a simple IP change doesn't work anymore. The change not only affected us, but a lot of PC users who wanted the classic version back, but never got it.

Yeh ive been reading how the API has changed and requires a developer key. So hopefully their not overly restrictive on who has one.

its also helpful for me that not only do they use xml, but also JSON, which ive now know how to implement eg my Dropbox app.

still havnt had a reply back from Shoutcast, although with a bit of packet sniffing i did manage to extract a developer key from the windows Winamp client.

Also done a bit of digging around in the tunenet app, seems tunenet doesnt use any API, all it does is scan the old webpage and extract the necessary info.

Ive already made a patch that points tunenet to my own website instead of shoutcast.com, so just gotta replicate the server side.

So hopefully Paul wont mind me releasing a patch for tunenet if I get all this up and running

Paul Nolan - Siemese RTG - Ive heard doesnt wish to discuss the source to Siemese system.
Paul Carrington - Vulcan Software (Valhalla Classics) - Doesn't tend to reply to emails regarding my developments.

(of course I respect they choose not to) but just funny :)

Anyway Ive managed to mimic the old shoutcast server enough for Tunenet to get stream information.

Just gotta work on data MyServer --> New Shoutcast API

Made a solution...

Made a few adaptions to the TuneNet exe so it now points to my server.

When requests are made for the online radio stations from my server, the server then contacts the Shoutcast API and gets the top 100 stations, then returns it back to the Amiga user.

I'm just making a quick patch program and it'll be up on os4depot soon
