Wait a little bit longer. Such "personal NG disillusionment" is common and happens quite often. Few months later you may end regretting such sale. After all, your machine will not lose its value, it is secured investment.

@ALL

Honestly I can get the @Massi point of view....
With the really POOR AmigaOS developers resources(mainly due to lack of money), I still dont know why we have 2 new hardwares and so few program/OS related news...
Also HATE the AmigaOS devs way of dont release news and infos about AmigaOS development only because they think it will recall flamers and so on...we PAY for the products and we DESERVE infos...

I really think that if Trevor & Co. have spent thier money (probably 30% of it was also too much) to develop something same QEMU to have a fully emulated-AmigaOS box working FASTER than any AmigaOne around and at a quater of the price...

I don´t think so. Direct port for "x86" would be more sensible choice then.

Finally another user / developer sharing the same feelings.

It is totally unacceptable that the existing hardware still has no OS support for multicore for example plus other things ... I don' t get why we need new (questionable) hardware if we don' t have even support for which already exists since quite a long time ago ...

It is a crazy world.

Thanks to Hyperion professionalism, I use my PC/Windows more and more often and discovered that Windows is a fun OS.

Thanks again

Are you for real?! Windows sucks and it saddens me that we are forced to use these dull Windoze boxes at work

the complete silence from hyperion, the lack of bug fixes being delivered that have been complete for some time, and the lack of overall progress on work long promised is outrageous. i'm, frankly, furious. all that is needed is the occasional blog post, a roadmap update, a sign of f***ing life. something. anything.

i don't think hyperion realize just how upset and resentful their loyal, long-term customers are over their lack of communication. i see it when talking to people via PM, i see it when talking to people over IRC, and i see it here in the forums.

enough already.

Still waiting One update for the XE as a loyal user.

Really sad as tried to get one picture in a win10 from a camera.

Got it printed and even saved and emailed to myself from the wifes hell computer.

Every second thought that Amiga can do it easily.

Maybe I was just dreaming.

Really as waiting and supporting so long and putting thousands on the Hobby I agree.

Luckily it is a Hobby. My company had Amiga but now there is videosecure on a phone (can look it from anywhere 5 x 360) and reservation online and printing wireless and more cannot tell.

A bit behind are we not?

Don't worry, most of us share your feelings. The situation is truly unbearable.

But as a fellow developer I'm wondering why you... well... don't keep on developing? Are any of your projects dependent on something Hyperion hasn't delivered yet? You know, we developers have the advantage in that we can do more than just wave the raging customer flag: we can actually contribute to the life of the platform by writing software and bringing some good news to the hungry crowd. This is, by the way, what A-EON is currently up to; has everyone missed their recent sneak preview?

@eliyahu

Yeah. The last time I heard anything from Hyperion was when they came to this forum to call someone stupid. It was the first I've read from then for a long time. That felt really uncalled for. And unprofessional.

They seem to have a strange habit of talking when they should be silent (calling people names, promising way too much) and be silent when they should be saying something, anything.

I think it would have been a good idea to let one of the Friendens write a blog post about the development leading up to the kickstart running in the picture Trevor showed. Nothing much or detailed, just enough so people understand where in the development circle it is right now.

The only think we know now really is that the X5000 was supposed to be released with AOS 4.1FE on it last fall. And that they missed the deadline for unknown reasons. That is basically it.

because it might be investment in a.. well.. in a dead platform? im not a developer, just mostly testing, few lines of code in between, usually led by the hand, but i wouldnt even think about to contribute to anything i cant trust is there to stay a bit longer. you can go to aros repository and check the daily commits, you can go to apollo irc and see the amount of work being done there, you can talk to developers and feel the skill and motivation behind these projects, thats reassuring. at least as long as it lasts. and this is now pretty much the case.

Basically I lost much of my interest for OS4 because of the reasons explained before.
Not to forget OS4 is not a profitable platform and at the age of 44 with wife and daughter is not always possible working for free (in principle work should be always paid).

Not all is negative of course, A-EON is a good initiative, but the whole picture has become unattractive to me.

Fortunately I didn' t lose my interest and passion for programming which does continue in the demo scene for Commodore Amiga computers.

So you've basically exchanged an unpaid hobby for another unpaid hobby But I do see your point of course. Good luck with your demos! (I was quite active in the demoscene in the 1990s so I have fond memories.)
