I want to congratulate terminills and the rest of his team on the pending release of Arix OS. For everyone who wants an up to date, next generation Amiga OS type system on all forms of modern hardware, x86, ARM, PPC etc Arix OS will be the way to go. AmigaOS 4.x over the last decade has been slipping to obsolescence and I for one am happy to see ArixOS hopefully breathe some new life into the Amiga. ArixOS is your AmigaOS now. Have fun with it, enjoy it and celebrate it.

Hi

What advantage does arixos have over Aros. I hope this will not have to much of a negative impact on OS4.x as OS4.x is a good effort and a good os its just a shame the hardware is so expensive and not fully supported.

@g01df1sh

difficult to be precise without knowing more details, but a few things are sure... full memory protection, multicore support, 64 bits and much better driver library.

@g01df1sh

That would be better answered by someone from the ARIX team.

Not until you buy that name from Hyperion.

ARIX seems to be ambitious endeavor. So good luck again from me. It will be needed.

I know, but his blog is full of symbols...

For me, ARIX could be another nice "alien" OS (like BeOS or Linux). I´m eager to try it on my hardware.

Whats wrong with endorsing ArixOS as the true successor to AmigaOS. They should actually roll up the AROS project into the Arix foundation so that advancements can be made as a whole vs pieces. Either way, Arix will bring modern technologies and cross platform support for you guys, who have been neglected by far too long.

That fact that it isn't. AmigaOS has no successor, it is still extant.

If it's 'teh true successor' to anything, then it the the successor to AROS (based on limited info only, and on the assumption that AROS want's to be succeded as it too, is still extant).
