Not sure, maybe some clarification is needed or just check the video again later when it's uploaded.

Anything definitive on RadeonHD Warp3D? |
I think Trevor said something about health problems of the Friedens holding up development. Not sure if he said they were just concentrating on Gallium now. To be honest I never understood the need for Warp3D for RadeonHD anyway because it would ultimately eat into development time for Gallium.
Steve Solie should be on in about 15 minutes now so maybe some more details about a few things then. |

Good to know though, and not surprising in the least.

| News from SSolie: Netbook officially canceled... can add source to wiki. When Gallium3D done, OS4.2 will be released... when it is done. X kernel - experimental multicore OS4. Nobody asked about compatibility with current applications. Edit: There will be Update7, bootable CD for all platforms - Cyrus included. FUSE ported to OS4, NTFS (NTFS-3G) is working reliably.

If it was talked about it, it was in first part of Trevor´s presentations, which I didn´t see. |

Great news, NTFS support is damn useful, at least for media & archive storage etc. Same story as FAT wrt Amiga protection bits iirc though, so wouldn't want to use it for application/system files.
Is that an indendent implementation, or based on the MorphOS implementation by Leif (which he open-sourced iirc)?_________________ Troll - n., A disenfranchised former potential customer who remains interested enough to stay informed and express critical opinions. opp., the vast majority who voted silently with their feet. |

I don´t know. SSolie spoke about included tools (format, check etc.) for NTFS. |

Yep, this was a port from MorphOS (AROS has a similar piece). _________________ : AmigaOneXE (unmod.) 750FX/512 MB +stuff & AmigaOS 4.(0|1) : A1200/68060&96MB/SCSI/EM1200-Voodoo3 & OS 3.5 : A500/1MB : Pegasos (ff) 512 MB & MorphOS Praise seitan. |

| Why is A-eon doing both P3041 and P5020/5040?
I got the impression from Trevor's presentation that the P3041 Cyrus will not be that much cheaper than the P5020, but it will be noticeably slower. _________________

Hurrah! Sanity prevails. Development and bugfixing on one platform will be relevant to both.

Freescales data page also describes the P3041 as a significant cost- and power-saving compared to the P5xxx family. And pin-compatble.
Credit to Andreas Wolf for predicting this quite some time ago.

and how it is implemented... if it is implemented like PowerUP then only adapted applications (or games) would benefit |

That's not symmetric - the 68040 basically runs circles around 68020, well, there would be no benefit after all. _________________ : AmigaOneXE (unmod.) 750FX/512 MB +stuff & AmigaOS 4.(0|1) : A1200/68060&96MB/SCSI/EM1200-Voodoo3 & OS 3.5 : A500/1MB : Pegasos (ff) 512 MB & MorphOS Praise seitan. |
