BIOS has just posted my videos of the October 18 AmiWest Show 2008. In the videos you'll see the
presentations of Jens Schoenfeld of Indivdual Computers, Matthew Leaman of AmigaKit, Richard
Drummond of Hyperion, and Steven Solie of the Amiga Users of Calgary. Go to

http://blip.tv/file/1398073 for part 1

and

http://blip.tv/file/1395272 for part 2

@RobertB

Great quality video on the first part, thank you for that!

However, I can't get the second part, with Steven Solie, to load, it just hangs at about 2 seconds in, never fully loading.

Sorry about that, but I can't control how Blip.tv streams its video. I'd say to keep on trying or to send Blip.tv a message.

Yep Same here, if you try to move the slider along then press play it comes up with an error message

Quote:
ERROR : invalid feed
the feed URL appears to be invalid, please check that the URL of the video is valid
and that the feed itself has valid syntax

so there is a problem at their end

I managed to downloaded both by using the select format option at the bottom of the video window, using source- windows media (.wmv) (Mozilla with downloadhelper addon and speedbit video accelerator). will watch them both later.

BIOS uploaded them, and I only have dial-up here at home. However, others here are free to distribute the videos to more accomodating sites.

When i tried to view the second video in flash it stopped after two seconds. The WMV version is downloading but... 509MB? Ouch! Either way, i'm downloading both of them now. The first one is between 193MB and 247MB (Flash and/or QuickTime).

Using Firefox with FlashGot extension.

Well, the first video plays fine, either in flash or quicktime but the second one, even the downloaded wmv format one, is broken. I 'fast foward' a bit of the video and then just stops after one, two or three seconds.

The solution that i think that can resolve that is to re-compress the second video in another format but that will take time since it's over 500MB (ouch!). Maybe in XviD format in a lower quality but it will end up with an even bigger file.

I will try to come up with something so i can see it properly but i doubt that i can put it somewhere online.

Just an 'update'...

The Problem with you tube is that your limited to length of Video and size
that's why the one's I took of the Ant meeting (OS4.1 on Sam) are low Resolution

@RobertB

Thanks, I've watched the first one and it's great.
I don't know how people can talk in the background so much sheesh!
You think since they made the effort to attend, they would listen to the presentations.

There is good information from Jens about the Indivision flicker-fixer, and the Catweasel update.

There was also good information in the SAM440 / OS4.1 presentation.
Finally people started to quiet down. :)s.

Ah, they were having a good time. :) I used a semi-professional cardioid microphone, but that still wasn't enough to block out the side noise, and I don't have a shotgun mic. I tried to soften the background noise by going into the editor's audio equalizer and cutting out the bass and especially the treble. At least that deadened some of the side noise.

It was later in the day for that presentation, and people were starting to tire out. :)

Part 2 of the video was broken at the Blip.tv site. That has now been corrected! It now plays nice and smoothly. (Thanks, BIOS!) Watch it to your heart's content.

No problem (at least for me). I'm hoping that BIOS will post my other videos of older AmiWest Shows.
