Yes, anybody has installed this game in OS 4.1? and in Sam? because I bought this game and I have the patch, and I tried to install in my Sam, but I didn't get it; but maybe that I did anything bad, the audio tracks with the Sam system, etc....

@NutsAboutAmiga

After some struggle,I had it running on my A1 OS4-Final, but the game didn't seem too be anything special, so I didn't bother with it. Not worth it.

@BrandonLee

You can think about the game that, but when you buy the game you want to do run in your system, WinUAE (where I didn't get run it) or now in my OS 4.1, I think that you have the game in special contidions........

@Templario

Hi egyptian Avatar man. ("The Mummy Return") haha.

well, I got it working, I recently bought the full version of the game, exodus the last war, and installed it on my sam. After this, I simply downloaded and installed a patch, that fixes the game for OS4 users, and hence, allows one to play the game smoothly.

Personally, i do like the game, but dont expect to have skirmish mode, despite this, it is still nice to play. And one can hook up with Mutiplayer support(i think)

Let me know if you found the patch for it from the polish site.

Cheers.

From ancient Egipt, je,je,je, thank you for your message, I have the original game and the update patch, now I'll try to patch the game and try to play with them because sometimes i think that spent my money for nothing, because in WinUAE neither I got that it runs.

Thank you for your message.

Sorry to butt in. But you can click on a CD icon and then get Information fron the Icon menu in WB. That will tell the device. But you can't drag copy it that way, have to copy it by hand.

@Templario

@Hypex, that is quiet alright friend, feel free to BuTt in. (smiles) Just dont get carried away with the Buttng.

@ Templario

actually, I just simply found out my cd device, by clicking on my AmiDVD program, going to Drive fetures, and then simply copied the text in the neccessary exodus prefs.

But if you do not have aAmiDVD, let me confirm one can find out their drive's name the other way,

Just checked, yes you can,

ou can also go to your amigaOS partition, double click on System, then media toolbox, and then get your cd scsi device name from there also.

Hope this is enough to help you play the scenarios, I personally like the game.

Cheers

@Gebrochen

I have problems with the Configure program this is the version 2.0 but with the 1.2 also both is freeze and crash my OS, I write the scsi3114.device and the program doesn't get the device and with I touch save the program crashes, I deleted the config file but with the new config the changes are saved except the cdda or scsi device, where is the problem? the config doesn't work with OS 4.1, or this game is very very bad for run in other system except one real AMiga 1200-4000?

I allways had trouble running Exodus .... no matter what hardware : A4000/060, A1200/PPC/060 and AOne ....

All seem to have problems with my CD Device ....

This does the trick for me :

Download DISKIMAGE.LHA from Aminet ....

Make a CD Image with MakeCD from your Exodus CD ....

Mount the Image with DISKIMAGE ... Install from there ... now when you're asked for the device, just use the virtual one (in my case diskimage.device Unit 4) ...

No guarantee but this does the trick for me

@Templario

Just to be sure, you have an original copy of Exodus game right?

SO, Install that onto a drawer of your choosing.

THEN

After the install is complete, simply double click on the patch, and then the patch will take about 10 minutes to convert everything for os4 format.

After this, select your cd device in the required field.

Then just simply double click and play.

P.S. Also, sometimes I find with some programs, such as feeble files, that native does not work for me, but selecting my graphics board does allow me to play feeble files.

Other games require me to select a fake native for them to work. Try it out.

Also, were it possible to get some screen shots of your installation process, as well as when you are selecting your prefs for the game?

Cheers.

Hey, yes I bough the Exodus from APC&TCP, I have the CD, the box the manual printed, all, I don't know the problem, perhaps the game doesn't like my Sam.

But thank you for your help, I'll wait to NatAmi and a good price to buy one and here I'll try to install.

Hang on, is your CD drive connected to a SCSI bus?

If it's on the internal Sam controller, SATA, then that should be something like sii3114ide.device.

If it crashes it's badly written, since it doesn't check if the device opened and assumes it's there, if that is the reason.

Yes it should be the one I mentioned. Follow Gebrochen's advice for copying the device name.

I got the name of ide device from AmiDVD and with the right mouse button uver the CD icons, but I think that the config program is very bad because this problem also I had with WinUAE also update the program and game, I think that this game needs a real Amiga 1200-4000 but of true.

I haven't tried it on Sam & 4.1 yet, but I have ran it under MorphOS. With the Cdda device I had to type in ide.device Cdda unit 3. The "?" button in Exodus settings doesn't see it. I found it with Unitcontrol. You should be able to find the device with the HDtoolbox in OS 4.1.
