Is it possible to have the interview in text format?
Thanks

LOL... Perhaps you can listen to and provide the transcript yourself for everyone to read. Can't be the most enjoyable task in the world.

@ArcadeHeart

the whole material is 73:30 mins long, lot of it is just a chit-chat, i could extract most 'precious' info but a complete transcript is next to impossible

We need someone with time and patience to do that.

@TheDungeonDelver

You did this with the .mp3 played at Pianeta 2006.
Are you up for the challenge again?
You could just abbreviate question and answer. I'm sure people would
understand that it isn't 100% complete.

I cannot see why anyone would have a problem with Linux being available on the X1000. More operating platforms for the X1000 is a good thing as Trevor said.

Linux on a Sam/X1000 is only positive

So nothing bad about Linux, but to replace OS3/OS4/MOS/AROS with a Linux distro is another thing...

(PS: I run Linux weekly, if not daily.)

EDIT: Oh, actually I forgot, I run Linux (Maemo 5) daily on my Nokia N900 smartphone, and I'm very happy about that
I run Red Hat, Ubuntu and Debian more occasionally...

It would be nice to have just a summary of the relevant information in his talk. I'm an AROS person but I'm still interested in what happens with OS 4 and Trevor's project, I just don't want to listen to the whole interview.

@persia

That's why I've called on someone who has done this before.
And it seems we have another volunteer in the thread as well.
btw-amigans.net is calling for the same thing.

For all of those asking for a text transcript. Just have a nice candlelight dinner with the wife or girlfriend. Instead of soothing music in the background play this episode of ART. If your extra adventuresome have dinner with the wife and girlfriend at the same time.

Linux being ported by one of the CPU creators. Interesting!

It could be that AOS4 developers get the best possible support to get all out of the CPU & to use all CPU features (not a short list).

...

And XMOS devkit going to be ported by someone close to xmos...

That's not the point of those inquiring about a transcript.
Listening to a foreign language is not the same as reading a foreign language.
Those who need some help here are those who can make sense out of a written transcript with the tools that they have to do so.
Those same tools do not exist for spoken word.
Also, we have multiple members who are either deaf or hearing impaired.

I've been told there is a significant amount of "chit-chat", so I advise you to keep it simple. Use your own judgment on what constitutes actual content.
Others can add bits they believe to be relevant afterwards.

Thanks.

@number6

The actual real content of the show is probably about 10 minutes, 20 max. The rest is "chit-chat" as you mentioned.

But it would still take the full time for someone to listen to all of it and parse out the good stuff from the chaff
