@pavlor

Funny how they don't even mention this on the AAA listing.

Who knows? A-EON has a history of communication difficulties, and they don't seem interested in rectifying the situation. Exhibit A: Their website. I'm not even thinking of buying a Tabor until they've been on a sale for a while and we know what the situation is -- what works, what the outstanding problems are, etc.

Well, my use for Tabor is an expensive decoration for my table, so I don´t care if it is 100 % functional.

I have to ask, since our current understanding has been this would be done on a first come, first serve basis...

Was there even a news item anywhere about the AAA bundle being available in the first place in order to allow that competition fairly?

The PR:

The AAA pack will include -
The new Enhancer Software V2.0 from A-EON Technology
Amiga.org mouse & mouse mat
Personal Paint for AmigaOS PPC and AmigaOS 68k
ImageFX for AmigaOS 3.x
A specially commissioned AmigaSYS 35th Anniversary Edition
Digital copy of the Viva Amiga Extended Remix movie as soon as it is released
Special AAA display box
An A1222 Early Adopter certificate (see option 1)

Compare with Amigakit:

AAA bundle includes:

ImageFX 4.5 Studio for OS3 (CD)
PPaint 7.3c OS3/OS4 (CD)
AmigaSYS (CD) for use on UAE **.
Amiga.org mouse (Black with logo/USB and PS2 compatible)
Amiga.org mouse mat
Viva Amiga Extended Remix movie (digital download available when movie released)
Serial key to register on AmiSphere.com for software updates

I humbly ask for clarification here...

What worries me is if a company is not able to stick to its own ordering dates as announced a couple of days before, or even write clear press releases, how on earth would it be able to produce quality hardware, which is of course, is much harder to do than the other 2 things?

If you are going to say that pre-orders are going up during the holiday period, you cannot blame people for complaining if you don't. Instead, choosing to blame the situation it on a fictional web designer who needs some rest with the family on Christmas. By the way we are on the 11th January now. That's one hell of a Christmas break.

I was just about to point out the same differences.

Thanks for your diplomatic approach to this topic. Much appreciated.

(There may be a simple explanation, so I don't want add any cynical remarks.)

Yeah. That would make a difference. Hopefully only an omission on the shop webpage.

Option 1: AAA bundle purchase
Purchasing the AAA bundle will automatically reserve your option to purchase one Early Adopter motherboard on a first come first serve basis, subject to the number of AAA orders received.

Since this purchase supposedly gives one an edge in pre-order for NG Tabor, I would say quite an omission to not show the NG related product that is your selling point for the bundle, yes. heh.

How funny/frustrating/annoying *delete as appropriate would it be to have people miss out on something they have been after all this time, all because they have been sitting on here discussing semantics

@Everblue

If you buy Enhancer 1.x + Enhancer Software Graphics you get Enhancer 2.x for free. That's probably worth >€100.

Interesting: For how long have "Enhancer Software Plus V2 (OS4) (2.0B29)" been visible on http://www.amistore.net/ ?

@Number6 Thanks.

"When the AAA bundle serial key is registered on Amisphere.com, customers can optionally request to be enrolled in the A1222 Plus Early Adopter programme (subject to availability and A-EON's terms and conditions). "

Lol, no. I'm not buying a 100 quid lottery to win a non guaranteed chance to be able to order a tabor. This was not mentioned in the press release they did before xmas.

@Everblue

I thought every AAA 'shiny shoe box' included a guarantied first refusal on buying an Early Adopter A1222? If not why bother?

Well it seems not. I am going to wait for the second batch so I can buy without having to go through these gimmicks.

@Everblue

That would be question for Trevor next week at Amiga Ireland methinks.

However, although the details have changed since April, keep in mind he already had significant interest in almost 100 units from one country alone....and not a huge one. heh.

Despite my criticism, I still want an A1222, but I cannot understand why A-Eon finds communication so hard to do, and why simple placing an order is so convoluted.

Besides, did they ever confirm if they have drivers for on board audio chip?
