Anyone every tried running a floppy drive on a lonnng extension.. looking at 1+ meter as contemplating running a tower Amiga again, but using the case as a Keyboard (via 5pin adaptor) and having a floppy drive still usable inside the Amiga case... but at a distance from the tower.

Thinking to just use a buffer IC for the motor/select/data/ signals along a 25pin D cable maybe up too 2m.. or as its low speed will a direct connection work fine with damage to the Amiga side.
