| Hi, guys! I just found out something cool and interesting that I thought I would share. I have a USB barcode scanner. You hold it over a barcode and pull the trigger and it reads the barcode. I use it on my Windows 10 PC with my movies database. I have 255 movies. It's so many that I can buy duplicates if I don't know that I have a movie already. I scan the barcode on a movie case and it finds the movie instantly. Anyway, I tried it with my AmigaOne X5000 and it works. It's like it was entered with the keyboard. You could use it in business applications like inventory control.
So you can add a USB barcode scanner to the list of AmigaOS4 compatible hardware. _________________ X5000 / microA1(OS4.1 FE U2) / CodeBench / Imagine / Blender Lightwave 2019 / Microsoft Visual C++ |

| They all work like that.
There are even some PS/2 style ones that use a keyboard wedge adapter. |

The USB version is basically an USB Keyboard, which just types the numbers extracted from the bar code.
So it works everywhere an USB keyboard works. Even televisions or game consoles.

Yeah, I've been happy that for once they didn't invent any custom protocol for some hardware devices... it's so nice that bar code readers act as standard keyboards and work "everywhere" then.
I've been paying my paper bills at my online bank with a cheap USB bar code reader connected to my MorphOS machines for years. Nice that you don't have to type all the details and numbers by yourself.
