As time goes on, and PC / Consoles get more and more powerful for gaming, I started firing up my A1200 for old school Amiga gaming more often lately, to look back at the early/glory days of gaming. Playing some of the classics like Shadow of the Beast, Lemmings, NY Warriors and more, kinda brought a small tear to my eye. It also reminded me of what made Amiga so great back then. So here's my questions to you all;

1 - Which Game creator/publisher was your favorite?
2 - What made these games so memorable for you; example - Music, Graphics, gameplay, etc?

If possible, apply this to modern Amiga games as well.

For me, it was graphics, then the awesome music so many of these games had.

I liked Rainbow Arts, Sensible Software, Max Design and so many others.

The games are great, because you need a lot of imagination to build the world around everything which is not there.

So, To your question: The games are great (for me), because I have to use my imagination to complete the story. Like reading a book.

Agreed on the graphics and music, that make it all the more nostalgic to go back to, I loaded up Dune 1 recently with seeing the new film (thought it was ok but a bit too long and slow in places) anyway the classic music took me right back to playing as a kid. https://youtu.be/PvDdogyKFtY

Jaguar XJ 220 is the same, actually got the music in my car and it make the car journey just seem all the more cooler.

I don’t know which publisher would be my fav? I think too many in Amiga world overlook EA / Bullfrog, they did bring us some solid classics, desert strike, theme park, syndicate, road rash, to name a few, and of course DPaint.

The games that really take me back to good days are Another world, lemmings, wing commander, and space quest series, I do like that silly point & click adventure series.

Modern games, I mean unfortunately I cant really think of any Amiga game since 2000, that really made an impression, Napalm, genetics species and wasted dreams was the last classics, I did enjoy on my x1000 via scummvm to finally complete the space quest series that fun and the remastered dune 2 port that upgraded the graphics and allowed group selection but I don’t know if they would count.
