@QBit

The irony of you calling people morons for "not liking the Amiga 2500", while also proclaiming it "the prototype of any standard computer of today" is palpable.
You apparently don't even know what it is.
It's an Amiga2000 with expansions that can be bought separately pre-installed. Nothing more.

Amiga 2000 1987!

Amiga 2500 1988!

And there's machines released years before them that share a similar form factor.

Maybe get a clue or 2?
It may stop you making an idiot of yourself.

Probably won't, but it can't hurt.

@QBit

What people REALLY don’t remember is the original A2000 from CBM Germany, as this A2500 and all other “spinoffs” were based on the popularly coined “B2000”.

The specifications indicate 1MB 16bit memory and 2MB 32bit memory standard.

Was the 1MB all chip memory?

@QBit

Please chill buddy ... no reason to call us morons.

I remember the A2500. It had very good specs. At the time when my wife and I were considering purchasing our first family oriented computer, we had a choice of A500 or A2000HD or A2500. We could not afford an A2500, so we bought an A2000HD instead. Over the many years since then, I upgraded this machine to AmigaOS 3.1 and added more memory, CD-ROM drive and flicker-fixer.

I remember seeing the A2500 advertised. I also remember seeing an A1500.

I never saw either of them in the wild when they were about. I think the A1500 may have mainly been a UK thing as well.

Yes, AFAIR both A1500 and A2500 were "UK only" products. And both were just re-badged/re-configured Amiga 2000 (B) computers. So, they should not be called as Amiga models, but just A2000 variants.

@jPV

Yeah, they just had double floppy configurations didn't they? It's not really worthy of a new model clasification anymore than an A600HD compared to a vanilla A600!

The A2500 was also sold in Canada and USA.

Typical system:
A2000 had one floppy drive.
A2000HD had one floppy drive and a hard drive.
A2500 was the same machine with an A2620 or A2630 accelerator card and A2500 logo.

These accelerator cards were also available separately to allow an owner to upgrade their existing A2000 or A2000HD system.

I bought an A2500 in the '90s. It had the 2620 accelerator and I think it also had an A2090 HD controller with a hard drive that sounded like a vacuum cleaner. Still have it actually, although I sold the A2620 & A2090 long ago.
