| Ok, so who exactly do you think WANTS to waste ink or toner printing these for 'personal use'? Sorry, I don't get it. It doesn't put product in hands, nor an OS4 port, nor give pricing, or make them closer to anyones hands.
The second one (the anti-helgis one) is funny, tho
BTW, if 'Panda' doesn't go past the advertised 1024x768, I'd never spend a dime on it, so I'm hoping that may change. _________________ Are we not done with the same silly arguments and flames yet??!

You could throw away their graphics adapter and put in your own Radeon X1300 PCI _________________ /Harry

Maybe you lot should change the flyer to read "Marketing >IS< for Dummies!" _________________ The problem with AmigaOS on PPC isn't that PPC is big-endian. The problem with AmigaOS on PPC is that PPC is dead-endian.

| AMY is so... 05's
The resolution goes against Panda, but the ability one to connect it to a composite signal, in as well as out is quite appealable... Last edited by pixie on 20-Oct-2006 at 09:59 PM.

| Wait a minute.. 2x SATA and no PATA? So you add a hard drive and a dvd writer.. but what do you do when you want to put a second hard drive in??
The original UD Tech design had 1 PATA connector, with what looked like the option in the design to have another.
If you're going to cut out PATA altogether, I think 4x SATA is needed really.
Btw, will any PCI gfx card work in this PCI slot?
Also, 1.25GHz 7448 is enough grunt for me, but you have the capability to go all the way up to 1.7GHz. I'd make a full speed version available too, despite the cost going through the roof, because there are always going to be guys arouind with money that want the best. :) |

Remember, these are either STB motherboards or reference boards for atypical industrial applications, not desktop system boards. I doubt the manufacturers really thought someone might try to make a general purpose computer out of 'em. _________________ The problem with AmigaOS on PPC isn't that PPC is big-endian. Look at the original design. Theres a PATA connector on the motherboard, and on this page theres a graphics showing "Primary ATA Connector" "Secondary ATA Connector" and "IDE133 connector". So it seems the design does allow it. |

Could always get a PCI IDE controller card. It would take up one of your PCI slots, but it's one way around it.Last edited by Rit on 21-Oct-2006 at 12:26 AM.

I dont want another A1 situation, having all the PCI slots filled with cards just to get basic functionality (SATA, PATA and sound).
But it doesnt really matter to me at this stage, because I'm probably just going to upgrade my A1 with an ACK CPU module. :) |

It's a crying shame when your best hope is to step up to 1996 era technology. _________________ The problem with AmigaOS on PPC isn't that PPC is big-endian. The problem with AmigaOS on PPC is that PPC is dead-endian.

The Amiga market is different. The A1s runs our OS and current software very well.Last edited by jahc on 21-Oct-2006 at 03:56 AM.

| naaah my best hope is to have PCI-E so I can rip out the X1900XTX outa this Box-o-Windows but my realistic hope is for min AGP.
with no Win-bloats in sight AGP should proove suprisingly nimble if not awe inspiring! _________________
