Software News   Software News : AAemu - AmigaAnywhere Emulation for AmigaOS 4
posted by Mason on 31-Mar-2008 22:08:41 (5551 reads)
AAemu is an AmigaAnywhere emulator for AmigaOS 4 by Oli Poflar.

This program provides a comprehensive set of sophisticated technologies enabling Amiga’s virtual operating system to run hosted on PowerPC systems with AmigaOS 4.

To play AmigaAnywhere games on your Amiga start AAemu and drag and drop the icon of the game into the window. The game Space Intruders is part of the archive.

An emulator of a hosted OS that doesn't even have a port for any Amiga flavour, so Amiga Inc. won't even have the opportunity to sell it to AOS users if they ever make it... Man, well done! You made my day!

Saluditos,

Ferran.

Thanks!! Works without any problems here.
I really enjoy playing all the AA games I bought to support Amiga Inc under OS4.

Will it support AA2 or is that integrated allready?

This is the first time I see AmigaAnywhere in action, and I must say I'm impressed, Amiga Inc. must have done a lot of work behind the scenes in these months. What's most impressive is the realtime screen resize, with the aspect ratio following the window's one, *while* resizing the window. Amazing!

I have not headed the time to test this assuming its not April 1 joke, if this true its step in the right direction; Amiga software for AmigaOS.

Personally I think Amiga Inc should have released this package no one else, so how useful is AA now? When Amiga Inc has dropped AA and is now writing games for AA2.

hmmm dont think im gonna fall for this one, one thing bugs me, Amiga licence. Considering wats going on with amiga and hyperion, amiga wouldnt let any unauthorised emulator based on either AA1 or AA2 to be anywhere near OS4. Thus amigaworld i doubt would allow the post :)

Also the idea of it working on classic (non-ppc) amigas are the icing on the fakay cake

nice try :)
