Seems more reasonable to port this to 68K than OWB (lower mem requirements etc)

Chris had Netsurf up and running at the ANT meeting yesterday, and it was most impressive Even though it clearly needs more development (in particular, scrolling and forms), it definitely seemed more responsive than OWB despite probably not being completely optimised; I suppose that's the advantage of basing it on an engine designed with lower-spec computers in mind (RiscOS machines). It already renders most sites with CSS fine. I imagine it would perhaps be more suitable than OWB on Blizzard/Cyberstorm machines...

Scrolling is sorted (thanks to Ami603, although he doesn't know he helped fix it ). As you say, the ANT build had no compiler optimisation and the display was a bit non-optimal as well (which I've improved now).

I've not tried switching compiler optimisation on for it so not sure how much of a difference it'll make.

No 68k version, far too many dependencies to compile. I don't think I've added anything which particularly requires OS4 so it should be doable.

Javascript isn't really my problem, it's not present in the browser for me to fix!

javascript.library

etc so we dont have to re-invent the wheel and open the door to HTML support in alot of current and future applications.

There's a library version of that as well, I think. I don't know enough about the internal structure of NetSurf to know whether it is of any use, but I suspect the core developers are already aware of Spidermonkey. AIUI Javascript (within NetSurf) needs DOM first which is in early stages.

After a decade away from the scene, I am back!

Really great news. Lets just transfer the money from the bounty of SPutnik for OS4 to this project on behalf with the OWB. Let's motivate these two projects instead of Sputnik for OS4, which is already far behind the schedule.

I am not saying to not motivate the developer of Sputnik for the MorphOS version, but as he might not be interseted to port it to OS4, then lets just forward these money to the people that do work on these projects.

Forget it, I don't break my promises. Not to Marcin or the other people who made a donation!

No money from the Sputnik bounty will go to other projects unless Marcin has to stop development.
And since Marcin now has both A1 hardware and have had time for development a release for OS4 is getting close.

Btw. Neither NetSurf or owb was available(or worth) to port back when the OS4 bounty for Sputnik was started. Sputnik seemed the best choice as it was easiest browser to port to OS4.

Problems with hardware availability has delayed the Sputnik project but expect a first version soon and enjoy that we actually have a choice in browsers. Now I'm just missing a new version of IBrowse
