software OS4   software OS4 : Huenison released
   posted by saimo on 11-Jul-2013 19:19:00 (6927 reads)
Inspired by a variety of classics including Arkanoid, Space Invaders and Tetris, Huenison is a frantic-paced hybrid of shoot 'em up and colour-matching puzzle game presented in neo-retro, unique visual styles.

Piloting a small mobile cannon back and forth across the bottom of a well, you must cycle through your six coloured beams, firing at the descending onslaught of corresponding coloured bricks. Missed shots bring the deadly zapper closer to your cannon, and missed bricks raise the ground they touch.

But this is just to begin with.

Read More >>>>>

With 25 levels, multiple boss battles, 9 different game modes, kick-ass chiptunes and a ludicrous variety of brick types, Huenison is all about racking up bonuses and score chaining. Your goal? To achieve the top position on the online highscore table and, while at it, to save the world!

Almost two years in development, Huenison was designed and coded by Simone Bevilacqua of RETREAM for AmigaOS 4 and Windows, and has also been tested and proven to run on Linux and MacOS through Wine.

The demo gets you about a fifth of the full game for free, just enough to give a taster of the retro-gaming chaos to follow!

As of the 12th of July 2013 (00:00 GMT), the full game will be on sale as a digital DRM-free download from RGCD priced at £2.99.

What a great effort Simone. I will have a tinker with the demo... nonetheless, great support for the Amiga platform that needs more game productions. Pity that it is not available for classics, but this is understandable...

Best of luck with this... and love the whole retro look. We need a platformer in this style too... but with parallax retro backgrounds mixed in with some vector graphics as well... and the obligatory c64 sounds too :)

just ordered an Amiga version for me and a Windows version for a buddy

Simone, big time congrats on making yet another original game which is like a beam of sunshine when compared to modern games which play all the same to me. Your games for the mighty 64, classic Amiga, AmigaOS4.x make me smile much like when I was a star struck boy staring in awe in front of my all time favourite computers

@QuBe

Thanks and have fun with the demo!

A redux version for Classic Amigas would be possible, but it would need to be created from scratch and, honestly and more importantly, I don't plan to make other ports/versions (details in the interview) - sorry.

@klx300r

I can only repeat that I can't find the words anymore to thank you!

Bought the game just 10 minutes ago.

Great fun and holy smokes so frustrating in a good way!

Never played the game before so I kept going past the color or when I wanted to shoot
i pressed "colorchange" instead
That will improve ofcourse once I get used to the game.

Love the music and retro feel!

Im defintly gonna play this quite a bit, and will add to my PC Steam account so my friends
can see when and what Im playing. Putting it on my facebook group (got a private LAN party group).

Awesome work!

Best score so far 18585 But only 3rd try. Bah. someone with over 40k score!!

Hopefully you dont take this the wrong way;

There are many many free games on the PC platform, and the only reason I gave this a second look was
cause you also support the Amiga platform.
I do not have AOS4 capable machine, so thanks to the PC version I was about to "chip in" to a developer
on the Amiga gameplatform.
If you hadnt been posting on a Amiga forum and Id seen this on "steam" catalogue, I might not even have given it a chance.

Just to re-itiate; this game is well worth the money and I will have alot of fun playing it ^^
Its a good way to give us with older Amiga hardware the ability to support the AOS4 platform
without actually having the hardware to run it

Ofcourse the best would be if the likes of me actually jumped off the deep end and bought AOS4
hardware

Just bought the Windows version. Seems my training on the demo paid well, best score so far on my first try (billaj - 66125 - I stupidly died on the second Wall). That's the good side of buying a game just at its release, your 15 minutes of glory...but I can almost hear the countdown to when someone will completely blast my record...
Waiting for my heartbeat to slow down now

Definitely. And I recommend reading the manual: there are so many bits scattered everywhere that it's very difficult to understand them all by just playing.

Don't be surprised: potentially, the highest score is much above that (personally my record is 249211 points, but it wasn't a particularly brilliant game; I think that 275000 points are possible, and maybe even 300000).
The more you'll play, the more you'll get used to the controls, you'll learn about the rules and build strategies... and you scores will fly!

Kind thought. I admit I had not thought of that myself. I was rather thinking that spreading the game in the Windows world would make for some publicity to AmigaOS.

My pleasure (both creating it and sharing it)

EDIT: Toaks, by coincidence RGCD just informed me or what your "small something" consists in: man, I'm totally shocked by such a great support!

What you did is already mindblowing; 4x as much would be illegal!
As for your suggestion: I must admit my ignorance here, as I don't know that system Anyway, the game has been released and is its final state - sorry, too late.
