| Today, 600EUR == 725USD. In a month it might not be true, but 1EUR generally does NOT equal 1USD _________________ This weeks pet peeve: Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). It's really an SiL0680, there is no chip named SiL630. There is an SiS630, but that's a full northbridge with onboard ethernet and graphics as well as IDE, so it shouldn't be that _________________ This weeks pet peeve: Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). I got this idea to put the A1-ITX into a 5.5 inch bay together with either my A1-XE or a pc...
Got to think about getting one too, since size matters. _________________ Site admins are people too..pooff!

We plan to do some market research (so-to-speak) and will provide a questionnaire (multiple choice) for Amigans to fill out on things they would like to see in an Amiga Fantasy (not the product name though) system. We'll keep everyone posted on this.
I cannot remember what it is you are talking about here. I think I heard it but I forgot. Can you explain it again?

We're finishing the work Marko Hirv started on the Amiga Fantasy design. We've had to modify it slightly to make it more realistic as far as making sure we can fit the MicroA1 and other components inside without any problems. We have stuck as close to the design as possible.
Our plan as far as this market research thing goes; is to get feedback from Amigans on possible features, look & feel and etc... of what they want to see and expect so we deliver on what people really want. We have 4 phases to our project and we're halfway finished with Phase 1 (the drawing board) of the project. Everyone involved (Hombre, GazSP, Twin and myself) has been really working hard and we will deliver on our efforts. _________________

The ATI 7000 GFX. Apparently (according to apple zealots moaning about the rumored specs of the uppcomming iMac) the nVidia 5200 GFX chip costs about 16$(US ) in quanteties of 1000, now I'd think a comparible cool running chip like the ATI 9200se wouldn't cost more. |
The usual problem is not the cost of the chips, but getting hold of them. It's probably impossible to get RV280 chips in small quantities at any kind of reasonable price.
Still, with a PCI/AGP riser you can switch the on-board graphics off and slap something better in there. _________________ Who do you serve, and who do you trust? - Galen

| Obligatory karma whore link: what exactly is PCI 104?
Alan, quick question: are both those boards going to be available to the general public (or only the 'C' version)? |

What exactly is the difference between the mark2 pre prod microA1 and the µ-A1-C if any? The pre-prod board is propably going in the collectors item box (if different).
I wish u all well with the µ-A1 . It´s a better deal than I dared to imagine.
@all
This has been the amiga weekend of my life. We organized Trondheim AmigaExpo (http://amigaexpo.polarboing.com) and had ca. 90 paying(!) visitors, and about 10 organizers ( NAF, amigaguiden, polarboing, amitopia a.s.o.) We announced it 10 days ago and held it at Trondheim Science Centre. And now this! Not one, but two new models?
Congrats with a future fellow amigans! _________________

| Rogue writes: "... the 750FX and especially the GX are considerably faster than the G4 at the same clock ..." and the page IBM PowerPC 750GX states, that the 750GX has more cache, die size and power consumption than the 750FX.
So why is the 750GX passively cooled and the 750FX not? (possibly 100nm instead of 130nm ???)
well, anyway, pretty cool. |

Refer to olegil's post for a similar context. Anyway, what are you implying?
Note that; Amiga 1200 comes with a keyboard, case, metal shield, disk drive, power brick and WB diskettes. Depending on vendor they could include other things like free computer desk (happen to me) and software ?etc?. _________________ Amiga 1200 (rev 1D1, KS 3.2, PiStorm32/RPi CM4/Emu68) Amiga 500 (rev 6A, ECS, KS 3.2, PiStorm/RPi 4B/Emu68) Ryzen 9 7900X, DDR5-6000 64 GB RAM, GeForce RTX 4080 16 GB

| I was referring to what is seemingly a "the microa1 is too expensive" as denoted by your elipsis at the end of your post. If I am mistaken, then I retract what I stated in the previous post. _________________

| You assume too much in the negativity side. ??? was intended to be open-ended i.e. I haven?t thought what other statements to say about the uA1. _________________ Amiga 1200 (rev 1D1, KS 3.2, PiStorm32/RPi CM4/Emu68) Amiga 500 (rev 6A, ECS, KS 3.2, PiStorm/RPi 4B/Emu68) Ryzen 9 7900X, DDR5-6000 64 GB RAM, GeForce RTX 4080 16 GB
